Well, I kind of have a fixation for piercings, and I have so many, but I never wanted them all over my face. I started with my collarbones back a while ago, and they hurt, but I wanted something new, something not everyone had, and I wanted surface. The things hurt quite a bit, but the adrenaline and the way they are after that are way worth it.

I decided on 6, four was too few and eight was too many, six seemed just about right (3 on each side) and Brennan himself was going to do them. He does have experience in piercing, he took most of the course, the only things he's never done is genitalia piercings (which I will not let him do anyways). So we decide don a size and gauge and all that extra stuff, where I wanted them and all the other details which needed to be decided.
Over the next week I got all excited as Brennan was the one picking up all the tools and my bars, which he custom bent for me out of straight barbells, so that they would fit my body and flesh perfectly. So when he called me after work one day and told me that he was all ready and had everything, I was all excited and jittery at the same time and rushed over there.
He teased me that I didn't have any blood running too my face and how pale I looked, but I bugged him back saying with all the HANDiwork he's done in his life how if he screws this up I'll break his joystick...lol.
He lives with our other friend and his girlfriend, so he had set up and cleaned and lined her massage table for me to lay down on after taking off my shirt. It was funny when he rubbed down my skin with antiseptic jelly cause Jaimeson decided at that moment to tease him bout "oh, that must be why you wanted to do this" and stuff as he continued on to mark me.
He took out a pair of clamps and I smiled, like I always do and flinched as he actually clamped the flesh on my sides. He told me to relax and take a deep breath as he placed an elastic around the clamps to hold it shut and unwrapped one of the 6 needles and a bar and set it off to the side, I continued breathing really deep and that was when he stuck the needle right through. It wasn't as bad as my collarbones, but the feeling afterwards was awesome.
He screwed the disc on and then let me rest a minute, asking me if I was okay just to do the second one. We continued on to do the second and third and then I got a little light headed so he grabbed me a coke and I drank the whole thing down before we decided to continue onto the other side.
Jaime's girlfriend Emma walked in and she took one look at me sitting there with no shirt and these three little metal things and a coke and bugged me that she had been wondering when I would get a new one. She came over and admired my new metal and called me a champ for getting this far (she's horribly afraid of pain).
I felt a lot better, and my hot throbbing side was beginning to feel a lot better, so I laid back down and he put on a new set of gloves and prepped my side, another needle and surface bar and clamped and got ready to go. This time it hurt a little more, probably cause my body was reacting to the extensive amount of change that was being applied in just under 2 hours.
He went through 4 and 5 and I made him stop for a second to stretch out my back a little. But when number 6 went through, I ended up moving my arm, which bumped the side that was already done and had to close my eyes for a minute before letting him unclamp and screw the disc on(bumping a fresh piercing hurts more then stubbing your toe!).
Well, he finished up once I was comfortable and then cleaned around the discs, which hurt very little as he prodded my flesh with stinging antiseptics and cleansing pads or whatever. Then, even thought we went through it weeks ago, he and I talked about the things I could and couldn't do yet, or what was good for them and I made the decision to sit there, drink another sugary drink and remain shirtless while we watched a movie, just cause I didn't want any immediate stress on them right that moment, though I did cover up my bra'ed figure with a good old fleece blanket.
Well, its three months later about, and they are doing amazingly well, no redness, no signs of rejection though I have certainly put them through lots of stresses, none meaningfully. The discs are a lot of help cause I have never caught them on anything, and they look amazing. My friends have seen them countless times and yet they continue to ask to see them. Brennan checks on them daily, cause I see him all the time, and if not, he'll call me to see how they're doing that day. That kind of piercing service is awesome!
We're already planning my next project, thinking up ideas and stuff, but for any piercing that is a surface piercing, the discs are a lot of help in healing and everyday wear. My ribcage surface piercings are amazing and I suggest that If you're thinking of them, they are definitely worth it if you have the right piercer, and my custom bars were well worth the wait and all that because they fit so well, so I definitely recommend those as well.
