I had always wanted a conch piercing since i was younger, but never really had the guts to go through with it. Today i went through with it and got it pierced. For those of you who don't know what a conch piercing is, if you stick your finger in your ear its the wall of your inner ear. About a week or two ago, I noticed a girl in my class who had recently got it done. And I couldn't help but look at it everytime she passed by. I had asked her how bad it hurt. She told me that she had it pierced with a 12 gauge and it hurt really badly. She said she had to have it re-pierced twice because it had gotten infected the first time when she went down to Florida. So I figured that if this girl could go through with it twice, i definitely could go through with it once.

I had saved up money for the piercing, and asked my mom to take me to the shop the next day.. She said okay, and the next day after school I called the piercing shop (Eternal Tattoos). I spoke with the piercer who told me it would be 40 dollars. So my mom and I get into to car, and start on our way to the parlor. It's only about 10 minutes away, and I was so nervous to go in that I felt as if my stomach had dropped to my feet. My mom and I hardly said anything about the piercing, we just kept talking about everyday things. Until we got almost a block away I had become more nervous. My mom came with me because im underage, and I felt really comfortable with her there. She has been there with me through every piercing I have got. So, I walked into the shop, waited a minute for Penny to get the place set up, and she called me in to sit down.

I have other piercings but I definitely was aware of this one causing great pain. I sat down in the chair while she had me sign papers and pulled out all the individually wrapped needles and jewelery. Everything was either brand new or sterlized and I felt really comfortable there. Penny proceeded to talk to my mom and I which made me feel more at ease. We carried on a good conversation, and as she was getting ready, I was getting extremely nervous. I kept thinking about how much pain i'd be goin through. But I knew I wouldn't back out because I really wanted this piercing. So I kept asking questions and asked her if this would hurt really badly, and she alarmed me that this definitely wasnt goin to tickle. That I would soon find out for myself.

A minute or two passes, and I'm still sitting in the chair nervous as can be. My adrenaline was rushing, and it was beginning to become ovbious. She began to clean the area she was going to pierce, check for veins, and make dots with a marker to where the spot should be. She made many dots, until she finally found the right one. After the spot was picked, she stuck the needle to my ear, and pressed really hard until it popped through the skin. I have never experienced so much pain from a piercing! I was in so much shock because it caused an intense amount of pain. The back of it was bleeding a bit, and Penny took her time and making the blood stop. She gave me step by step instructions and what soap to buy, and how to clean it, what to use and what not to use. She also gave me an after care sheet, and she was very thorough with everything she did. Honestly, this piercing hurt really bad and I know the next few days are going to be extremely hard in caring for it. But I dont discourage anyone from getting this piercing! If you want something go for it!

A conch piercing is definitely a different one, and I have already fallen in love with it. I can't really say if i reccommend this piercing yet, because its only about one hour old. What I can say though is, if you really want a piercing go through with it! Don't be scared of the pain factor, because you will be so pleased with the result. (As long as you go to a good piercer and don't do it yourself) I'd like to have a picture of it up soon. If anyone has any questions or comments be sure to email me at bloodrippingeyes@yahoo.com.
