I have a total of 3 piercings. One in my tongue, and a vertical labret. I have these piercings about a year now. And I wanted another one. It's almost an addiction, once you have one, you want more. And for me that's no exception.

I thought about another lip-piercing, but I thought that it wouldn't look good, because of my vertical labret. Then I didn't think about it any more, until recently. I was looking on the BMEzine site for tattoos actually. I saw some tattoos on the back of the neck and I found it very sexy. But I didn't want a tattoo there so I looked at the piercing section for nape-piercings. I found them and I thought it was still very sexy. I decided that I wanted one that week.
So on Tuesday I went to the store, because they are closed on Monday. I always go to Piercingstudio 4U because it is a very hygienic and nice place to let yourself pierced. I filled out a form and had to wait, because there was someone who had trouble with her navelpiercing. A girl with her mother came in and said that she was very nervous and asked her mother if a tonguepiercing would hurt. I said that it was not painful at all to pierce, but that you have muscle pain for a few days. She was still very nervous.
It was my turn and I told George that I wanted a napepiercing. He wanted me to sit on a chair on wheels, like a horse-saddle. So I sat there and he was looking for a bar and finally he found one. He measures that thing and after that he measures my neck. Martine asks if it is going to be a very long piercing and he says no I am looking what the middle of her neck is. Then we had a conversation about unusual piercings such as one through the hand. And more of that sort of piercings.
Finally he marks me en puts a clamp on my neck. I didn't like that, but hey, I wanted my nape pierced so what's the point whining about it. I ask George if he is going to say when he puts the needle through my flesh. He says yes, but first I am going to spray some ice on it. So he does that and it felt very very cold. After a few seconds he says now it is going to happen. So I grab the chair really tight. I felt a little sting. It was actually quite painless. I guess because of the ice he sprayed on it.
The jewelry goes in and he asks me if it hurt. I said no, not very much. My labret was more painful. He agreed with me. He has 3 napes and a normal labret. I thank him and walk to Martine to pay. She also asks me if it hurt. And I said no, not so much. She found that very cool, because when she got it done it hurt very much. I pay and get some soap and ointment to apply on twice a day.
I go to school and let it show to my best friend. He thinks it's very cool. Some of my friends don't like it and others do. Sometimes someone is surprised to see I have a napepiercing and asks did it hurt? Why did you do it?
I tell them it didn't hurt and I did it because I wanted it and thought it would look sexy.
Afterwards I didn't feel the piercing at all. And cleaning isn't that hard to do. I just clean it with some soap and after that I apply the ointment. I ask my best friend to look at it every day, to see if there is no infection or anything. I also try to watch it myself with two mirrors but that's very difficult for me.
I love this piercing, although I am a bit disappointed that I almost didn't feel any of it. But it is a very sexy piercing and I hope it isn't going to reject.
Sleeping is no problem because I lay on my side at night and if I lay on my back I don't feel it at all. Sometimes my necklace gets entangled in my piercing, but that's no problem, I just have to put it in place and it's okay. In the beginning I had to be very careful with my scarf, because I used to pull it on one side to get it off. Now I have to remind myself that I don't do that.
My parents weren't very enthousiastic about it. My father even found it a bit scary. But after a week he is used about it. My mother wasn't scared but didn't like it either. But hey, they don't have to wear it and I often have my hair or blouse to hide it. So they don't have to see it.
I can recommend this piercing. It isn't very painful and I didn't bleed at all. I love it and I get great reaction from people. Not just friends, but also people I don't even know.
The only side effect is that it could reject, but if it is pierced right there's a small possibility.
