Ok, so, two months prior to this surface piercing I had my labret done. That in itself was extremely spontaneous and a whole story on its own, however, as i am sure many of you have been told before, get one piercing, you shall want another...and another....and another eternally!

I was on the tube and I noticed a dude in front of me, and he had the back of his neck pierced, with two white balls two and a half centimeters apart, I was very impressed. But as a girl with long long hair, it was not going to be practical, so I brought the piercing down to my lower back.
Contemplated this idea for another further three weeks and the urge and temptation grew and grew until a Thursday afternoon I grabbed my friend and took the 134 to Camden with a mission to get it done.
At first I went to CHIKO where I had originally got my labret done, I really trusted the lady that did it, she was calm and very informative, however she replied, ' no, I don't do surface piercing, because they reject quite often'. My mouth fell open and tongue went dry, I was so very disappointed. But then she recommended some other people, one studio in Covent Garden and another, ECLIPSE, so off I went on my mission to find someone who would actually do it.
Arrived at ECLIPSE, trotted down the stairs, asked, and hurrah they did, however at this point in time I had dropped off at the pub and had a beer or two and I needed to go toilet, but, I wanted my piercing too.
So, filling out the forms and haven handed in my ID, while jumping from one foot to the other I had to wait 10 mins, although as always felt like 30 mins, anticipation of the piercing and needing the loo!
Finally my time had came and I hopped into the room, and the nice lady pulled up my top and tugged ever so slightly on my skirt to get an accurate marking for the holes, ( shamefully using my butt cheeks as the centre point)
I jumped onto the medical looking bed, and had to lie down on my front, and how blooming lovely, I had a BIG mirror directly ahead of me, so I could see the lovely big needle and all that the piercer was doing.
She had some lovely chit chat going while she was preparing it, saying that she was annoyed she hadn't taken her camera as shed like to photograph it etc which did make me feel quite special as it seemed it wasn't such a common piercing.
So she spoke to aloud what she was doing, she pinch my lower back horizontally and asked me to breath in and breathe out and as so, the needle went in. Yes I could feel the needle go in, but as a young sister I had been in more pain before. It hurt more when the needle came out the other end, it was sharp, but very very quick. She inserted the bar, again I could feel it happening, but it was not painful.
And in the space of 40 seconds it was all done, I jumped off the table and she handed me a mirror, and when I stood straight and positioned the mirror carefully I saw these small silver balls at the bottom of my back and loved them instantly.
They were then covered in a plaster and it was slightly uncomfortable on the tube ride home, and sleeping, but completely bearable and not painful at all.
I seem to take well to piercing as there was no discharge or puss of what have you, and I changed the balls after only 3 weeks, the balls do get caught sometimes, on tight trousers or on your knickers/pants its a small tug, similar to tugging on an ear piercing, you feel it but its not too painful..
Although once I got it caught on a loop on my settee...that was painful it felt like it had ripped on one side and it did bleed. But it healed very quickly after it.
I do like my piercing, and it's hilarious to hear someone reactions when you turn around with out telling them, alot of the reactions are " OH MY GOD.......actually that looks quite nice...' it's a shocker to a lot of people but its one of those, sounds bad but isn't really kind of things.
Its a cute and discreet piercing and you can choose when or when not to show it, so very versatile, I suppose you do have to be carefully where you get it done as it could reject, I recommend ECLIPSE in Camden.
I am now planning my next, septum, again discreet and unique.
But then that will be the last one! I must promise myself, no more piercing...
Hopefully...
