Throughout my life I have had most all of the common piercings. Most of them have not lasted more than 6 months, you see I have an addiction. Some would call me a masochist, some would call me crazy, addicted perhaps? I guess I just like the pain, why else would I choose to remove my piercings shortly after inserting them just to be able to have that wonderful endorphin rush again and again. I have always searched out the most painful experiences that I can get my hands on, no pun intended. This has lead me down the path of extensive genital modification and even a meatonomy. While the meatonomy certainly caused an acceptable level of pain it's not something that one can repeat again and again as there is only so much tissue to cut through and once it is cut through there isn't really anymore tissue to destruct, that's kinda why I stick with piercings.

The last one was a nape piercing about four months ago, it wasn't nearly as painful as I had suspected it would be, but I guess that's all a matter of personal opinion. So feeling a lack of endorphins recently I did what any other sane person would do, I called my local supply house and ordered a mess of 10g needles some 10g barbells and some 10g CBRs. This was going to be a fun month.
Now before I continue let me make it clear that I am a professional, I am very aware of the anatomy of the human body, sterile and piercing techniques and the risks involved. I must insist that you do not try and repeat what I am about to share with you. Also using any chemicals while piercing or being pierced is VERY dangerous, Vicodin and Alcohol taken together CAN and DOES kill!! Your local friendly professional piercer is your best friend. Don't try this at home!!
After waiting a couple of weeks for my supplies to arrive I had a decision to make. What piercing did I want to attempt? I was tempted to try and core out my nipples as some nasty keloids had formed, but after further consideration I found that the manual dexterity required to pierce my own nipple might be a little out of my abilities. I was feeling particularly masochistic that night and after doing a little reading on BME that a hand piercing had some possibilities. After a Vicodin and couple shots of JD I was ready.
I decided to do the piercing in my left hand and because I am right handed it would allow me to use my right hand to do the piercing and not limit my writing abilities. Carefully I got my supplies together. I set up a sterile field with a sterile cloth to put all of my supplies on. I laid out my forceps, my 10g double beveled needle, a 10g CBR which had already been opened, a surgical pen, and a rubber band to hold the forceps closed. All of my equipment had been previously sterilized, one of the perks of having access of a graduate bio. lab and an autoclave. I washed my hands with Dial antibacterial soap, followed by an alcohol wash. Using a sterile 4x4 gauze sponge I cleaned the site with alcohol followed by betadine. Now some people will argue that using betadine is not the smartest move due to the fact that the brown color can obscure some anatomical features and make jewelry placement more difficult. I agree with these people to a point. In this case I had already scoped out my site and was aware of the landmarks that I needed to avoid. I choose to use betadine in addition to alcohol due to the fact the betadine provides an antibacterial effect for many hours after the original piercing, thus providing an extra margin of safety. Let me make it clear though that I do not use betadine as a cleansing agent after the initial piercing. Betadine contains iodine, a compound that can inhibit tissue growth and healing if it gets into the wound. Please do not use betadine for routine daily cleaning, it will cause more problems than you can imagine. After putting one sterile glove on my right hand I marked out the piercing site with my surgical pen. I chose a spot midway between the thumb joint and the first index finger joint, in the hand webbing. The placement was approximately 0.5cm inwards from the edge of the hand. In retrospect this placement may have been a mistake. I misjudged the amount skin available for piercing, if I had a chance to redo this I would have placed the piercing about 1cm in from the edge of the hand. I am afraid that migration will occur and that I will have to remove and redo the piercing. But I guess that that is not a total disaster seeing as I have my pain addiction to fulfill.
After having marked the site I used the forceps and rubber band to carefully clamp my hand. I used the rubber band because the forceps have to be closed too tightly to lock themselves, the rubber band alleviates this problem. I am lucky to have a split pair of forceps thus allowing me to loosen them and pull them horizontally off the needle instead of over the top of the needle; this certainly makes life easier. It was time to do the deed. This was going to be slightly difficult as I only had the use of my right hand. I reminded myself that I was glad that I was doing this piercing with my right hand as doing this with my non-dominate hand would have been significantly more difficult if not impossible! I lad my left hand flat on a new sterile cloth on my desk. I carefully laid the forceps on the same cloth so that they would have as much support as possible and so that I could attempt to keep the piercing straight. I had made the decision that I would do this piercing slowly so that I could savor the pain, no quick puncture for me. I wanted the full effect. Taking a deep breath I pushed the needle about a millimeter in. Oh my God did it hurt. Yeah this was going to be fun. I could feel that oh so divine mixture of endorphins and adrenalin begin to course through my veins. Who needs heroin I chuckled. Over the next two minutes I slowly pushed the needle in to my hand. Savoring the experience like one does when fucking a fresh tight pussy. The last few millimeters were the hardest, they always are. Finally with a satisfying pop the needle was through. I sat there for a few minutes to savor the whole experience of what I had just done. It was good to be on the piercing wagon again, damn I missed this shit.
Finally it was time to insert the jewelry, carefully I put the end of the CBR in the end of the needle and in one quick swoop pulled it through the gaping hole in my hand. As I misplaced my ring pliers putting the ball in proved to be a difficult experience to say the least. While the piercing did not bleed even once I had the ring in, it decided that it didn't like being played with so much when I tried to put the ball. I began to bleed like a stuck pig. For a moment I worried that I had hit major blood vessel but quickly reminded myself that I knew where the vessels were and that I had missed them by a good margin. The bleeding slowed over the next hour to a just a few drops an hour. The intense pain I felt while piercing was replaced by a dull throb. Mmmm goodness.
Exhausted by the evenings experience I passed out. I woke up in the morning to some dull throbbing but very manageable. There was some minor crusted blood but nothing that warranted any concern. It's been close to a week now and the piercing seems to be healing nicely. Again my only concern is the possibility for migration, but if I have to take it out and re-pierce it wont be the end of the world. I have received many oooohs and aaaaahs and even a few eeeeeews. I love people's reactions to it and it was all in all a wonderful experience.
