I have been interested in body modifications since a very young age! Due to my parents having tattoos I have always loved the idea of customising your skin! I became more interested in piercing's as I was far too young to have tattoos. I have always loved unusual piercing's. After getting my navel pierced at 10 I was in to bigger and better things! I wanted a surface piercing but I was undecided on where to have it, I had ideas but as I was still at school it had to be somewhere that could be hidden. I saw someone with their nape pierced and instantly fell in love it! It became clear to me that this was the piercing I wanted and that I was definitely going to get it!

My parents were totally cool with me having this piercing as they knew I was really interested in body modifications, just as they were too! My mum took me in to see Georgi, she explained the piercing and how it would be done. She also answered all my questioned honestly and told me straight that yes it will hurt! Georgi told me that no antithetic would be used and so I would be able to feel everything going on! But I was fine with that, if your going to get a piercing you should go through the pain for it and not be a whimp! I booked the appointment for 31st October at 10am!
I was counting down the days, hours and then minutes! I arrived in Alzone, Georgi told me how important it was to eat before this piercing and to bring chocolate with me just in case I felt faint, I arrived with my chocolate and my high sugar energy drink!! As I was being drawn on and measured up everything was made to perfection! And my heart was pounding so hard I thought every one could here it! But as well as being nervous I was on a massive high, I lay on my font on the coach, Georgi didn't use clamps which (as I now know) was a lot more comfortable! She told me exactly when she was going to start the procedure. I felt the needle go through, it wasn't the pain that hit me first it was more the adrenalin rush that seemed to be pumping through my veins that I loved, I knew this wasn't the last time I would be getting stabbed! The needle popped out the other side, and I heard Georgi tell me she was going to put the jewellery through. The hole time my mum was there holding my hand. Georgi was talking me through the process, continuously telling me how well I was doing and asking if I was ok. This was a massive comfort. I felt confident and relaxed knowing what was happening.
It was over within a few minutes and I looked in the mirror... I was so taken back by this beautiful surface bar in my nape I instantly loved it! I thought the healing process was going to be really difficult, I thought I would be catching it on my clothes all the time and I would be knocking it every five seconds! I was pleased that I thought wrong! It healed so well! To this day I have only caught it on my clothes once! The other thing was that sleeping would be a total nightmare, but it was fine, the bar lay flat against my back and sleeping was never a problem! I kept it clean.... Every where I went my cleaning stuff was with me! I looked after it constantly! It was part of me now and I wasn't going to lose it! Its weird how you become so attached to something that is so alien to your body, but I wouldn't know what to do without my piercing's now!
Georgi made a fantastic job of my first piercing that I knew I would be back! It only took 6 months before I was back getting another piercing in my nape. She was very happy to do it as I looked after my first one so well! Before I knew it I had 3 in my nape going vertically down. They all healed beautifully and I was proud to have them and still am!! Of course that wasn't the end of my piercing's..... They are growing by the day and I love all of them! But I will always love my very first nape piercing more than any other, simply because..... It was my first!
If any one is thinking about a surface piercing my advice is think about it first... the more you think, the more you'll want it and the more you will love and look after it when its done!
