It all started when I was surfing around BME a year ago, I was trying to find something that wasn't very common. Before I got these two done I already had my ears done multiple times, nose, navel, eyebrow, tongue, and snakebites. I am completely obsessed with piercings. When I came across the hip piercings, I had never seen them before, so I knew that I would have to get those eventually.
At A Glance Author Asheo Suicide Contact ashleyh68@hotmail.com When It just happened Artist She didn't tell me her name Studio Nephtys Tattoo 2 Location Magog, Québec I got to Nephtys around 2:15 yesterday afternoon (December 31st, 2005), went in and asked the girl if she could do those piercings, and she said yes. She warned me that they only have a 50% chance of not rejecting. Hopefully mine will be fine. She said that it might take a while to get em perfectly even. Which it definitely did, a good half hour really. But like she said, even if they weren't perfectly even, they'd be pretty, but still crooked. Which she didn't want to happen. So after a long time of considering their placement, he decided to do one side and then hold the other bar against me where she thought it should go to see how it looked. She asked me first if I would be ok to wait a bit between the piercings, which of course I said yes.
So she had already cleaned the areas and gotten her stuff out. She did the piercings freehand, which kind of surprised me, never hand any done freehand before. I've read stories about the clamps on that area and they're really hard to use there, skin being too tight to get a hold of it good. So she lined the needle up, pushed and pushed again... ow, that second push sucked! but it wasn't too bad. So next was to put the bar in. When she went to do that, the tube that follows the needle thru to put the bar in easier, it bent inside me, that hurt a little. She was like, "fuck! I hate when that happens." and she had to take it out and quickly shove another one in before the hole closed. That hurt! But then she got the bar in and the ball on. It was bleeding quite a bit because of the stupid tube, but it felt fine.
She then checked with the other bar to see if her dots on the other side were placed good. She decided that the other side was a bit higher, so she'd pierce just above both dots. Away she went! One push, two push, and done! But holy monkeys, that side hurt worse than the first side for some reason. Oh well, that tube didn't bend, and the bar was in in two seconds. Didn't bleed at all.
She then explained to me not to get any water on it or anything when showering and such. I'm not to clean it at all with anything. I have to go in to see her every week on either Saturdays or Wednesdays when she's working and she'll clean it for me.
She didn't use stainless steel bars because they have a higher risk of rejection on surface piercings. I forget now what she used, it was more expensive, but she gave them to me for the same price as the stainless steel ($120).
I left there at 3:30... long enough procedure? I think so!
Sitting down feels kind of like I have bruises on both of my sides, which isn't a big deal. There actually is a bruise by the one that the tube bent in. No surprise there. If I move certain ways that stretches the skin a bit, that hurts slightly, but nothing unbearable.
I thought sleeping was gonna be hard. She told me not to wear a shirt to bed because it might catch, but I was cold. So I found one with sleeves but that didn't cover my stomach, so I didn't freeze! I sleep on my left side normally, so I was worried I might roll too much and hurt it on my bed or something, but I didn't. This morning when I woke up, they're perfectly fine. Still the bruised feeling a bit and such, but they're doing really well. None of the crusty stuff around the holes, no swelling or anything! So I think, and hope, that I'll be lucky and the 50% chance they'll be fine wins over the rejection.
I would suggest to anyone who is considering these piercings, to go have them done! They look absolutely amazing! I'm completely in love with them. But don't do them yourself unless you are a professional, you could end up with ugly scars if they reject. Chances are, if you do them yourself, not knowing what you're doing, you increase the risk of rejection.
Happy Piercing Everybody.
