I'm the kind of person who loves to get pierced; I make it a normal thing for me to do every couple of months. All of my piercing have been pretty much normal the same old tongue, industrials, nipples, and such but I just was tired of having the same thing that everyone else had and just thought it was time for a change.

I woke up one morning and started surfing the internet to see some wide varieties of piercings and I came across the wrist surface piercing. To me it just looked so cool and I just had to have it. So I ran into the living room and asked my step dad if he would take me to Albany to get it pierced. At first he was skeptical and thought I was totally psycho for wanting such a thing but he finally give in.

Then two days later we were off to Albany to visit the totally hot guy, Ryan, at the Tattoo Shop so that I could get my wrist pierced. I was so excited and all of my friends were there with me to see me get it done because they hadn't seen anything like it before. As I walked into the shop I was so nervous like I am always before getting pierced. It's such adrenaline.

When I walked in I told Ryan what I wanted and everything. Then the first question I asked was, "Does it hurt?". His reply was YES. I was so shocked because he had never told me that anything had hurt before and I have got all of my piercings from him. He has always been honest with me so I didn't know what to expect. I sat there for a minute and he talked to me and showed me some pictures of many different ways that he does it. I just couldn't chicken out, that is what I wanted done and I had my mind set to it.

He told me to sit down and wait a few minutes because their was someone in front of me so I did. Then I was waiting and then he called me in to the room and started sterilizing my arm and he got the ruler and marker out to get it all lined up where it was suppose to go. Then he got the bar out and measured how long it needed to be and told me I could get down because he had to sterilize the bar and that it would take about ten minutes in the machine and I said ok. By this time I was so ready to get it done but nervous at the same time.

Finally he came back and told me to get back on the chair. He got the clamp out and started clamping it to my wrist. This is when I was like WOW this is really going to hurt because the clamp didn't feel too good. I was about ready to chicken out at this point and my friends were all trying to get me to as well because they thought it was kind of weird me wanting to get this done. But I just couldn't do it. It was finally set and he got out the needle and put some stuff on it and asked me was I ready. Man was I.

He started looking at it and was fixing to do it I could just feel the pain so I just turned my head like I usually do. He started sticking it through and I just had to look because it wasn't hurting at all. I just thought it was the coolest feeling have that needle go through my wrist. When he got it all the way through he just looked at me and I was like now you told me this was going to hurt. He just laughed and thought that it was really funny because he said that most of the time it really does hurt people to get it done.

He let it sit there for a few seconds and then he got the bar and started sliding it through. When he got it in it really started to bleed which was normal though because he had to pierce it one side bigger than the bar so there would be no problem with getting the bar in. Then he cleaned me up and told me I was all done and to come back in two weeks and he would check it out and cut the bar to make it the appropriate size.

I started walking out the room and their was some people sitting out their and they just were looking and wanted to see it. They said out of all the piercings that they had seen they had never seen this one. I was so excited I had got a piercing that not many people have and that was the whole purpose of me getting this one.

I have now had it pierced for two going on three months and I'm loving it. It just looks so cool and people just freak out when they see it. It is not all the way healed but it looks nice. It scabs up every once in awhile when I hit it but other than that its great.

I would recommend that if you want to be different not necessarily you should get your wrist pierced but look towards getting surface piercings. They are a little harder to take care of but you will enjoy it in the end when no one else has something like you. It will make many people fascinated.
