I never once in my life thought that I would be who I am today, and have the guts to get the piercings that I have today. I have always been a big baby, but after your first piercing honey, there ain't no turning back.

A week ago today I received two lovely new piercings. My right and left collar bone surface piercings (clavicals i've also heard them to be called). The day before I got them is when I decided I wanted them. If I dwell on anything for too long, it just won't happen. And plus I have a professional piercer friend who will do anything as long as you pay for jewelry. Yes, he is a very safe piercer.

I was pretty sure that I didn't want to add any more piercings to my face so I thought 'where else on my body could I get a piercing?' Nipples? No way, I am way to self conscious for that. Belly button? Everyone and their dog has belly buttons pierced. Doesn't really leave very many choices. Then I came across a picture somewhere on the internet, im not too sure where, of a girl who has her clavical done. And I thought 'that looks kind of silly with just one. If I were to get them I would get both sides done.' Just like my lips. Then later that night I looked into a mirror and saw a flash of what it would look like. And I thought 'hey that wouldn't look half bad on me.' Every piercing I have does represent who I am, but on a very personal level which I do not wish to explain.

So I thought about it, and I asked a couple of peoples opinions, and came to the conclusion that it would be pretty sweet. I also of course needed my good friend Donnie's approval that he would do it, and he was more than happy too. I love that guy, he also did my right lip and my bridge piercing. I trust him.

After a date and time was decided, I came on BME and looked up all the pictures I could of kids with their collar bones done. They are so pretty. I was so excited and so stoked.

I called up my piercing buddy's ( the girls who come and get piercings with me: Maia, and Eireann) and pretty much told them they were coming with me to get them done.

And they did. I was pretty nervous because I had never done a surface piercing before. I also found them scarey looking. But really it wasn't half bad. The pain only lasts for like two seconds and then its just over with and feels like a bruise. Piercers do a pretty good job at lying to you and telling you it's only a pinch. Which I guess it is, but a very long, drawn out, pinch.

The day of I had to do all this running around. I drove my friend to the West end then I went to the North end only to find out I had to go back to the West end to pick her up first. That was a pretty big inconvenience. Then Eireann was supposed to meet up with us at the train station. While we were waiting she called and said she wasn't coming. So we went to Donnie's and she walked in moments later and we figured out it wasn't her that called but different Aaron. It was all just dumb miscommunication but worth it in the end. Eireann ended up getting her sternum done as well.

The first one was my left collarbone, which wasn't that bad. Before we started I told Eireann to count how many times I said 'ohmygod' which was 33 times. yeah im a baby but it was mostly for distraction purposes. Because of the first one, I was a little tense for the second, so it ended up being more painful and bled a lot more. Its still bruised today. I really like them and am really proud.

Right after the piercings I had to drive Eireann to work and she hooked me up with free food and a beer which really helped me feel better and more energized. Woo-hoo foreign beer.

At first I wanted to show them off so I wore tank tops and shit but realized this was a more personal piercing. I went back to wearing what im comfortable in and not worrying about showing it off. Im a pretty depressed gal so this was like another way of showing myself that I am still alive. I simply love the after-piercing adrenaline.

I had rehearsal right after for a play that I am performing in, that was kind of tough but I got through it just fine with little bloodshed.

kthxbye
