Another wonderful story I felt I must share with the world. If you have read any of my other ones, you know how much body modification means to me, and how it fascinates me. After I had my first surface piercing done a little over 8 months ago, I knew I wanted more. Just how many, I wasn't sure. I'm still not.

So cute, they can either be your little secret, or be shown to the world! Not to mention, as long as they were perfectly straight, it would give the illusion that my hips were straight as well. As they are not, the right one is slightly higher, making me not-so-perfect.
I admit, I was apprehensive, and I put my hips off for quite a while. I was nervous, and not quite sure if I should do such a thing. One of my other surface piercings was giving me problem after problem. It had been done at a different shop, and Nickk, my current body piercer is doing his best to save it from evil rejection. I decided that I couldn't fight it anymore, and I wanted my hips done. I made an appointment for before the shop opened one morning, so we could take our time, and make sure everything went well. Unfortunantely, things came up. I had a family emergency to tend to, and wouldn't be able to make it. Nickk understood, and I rescheduled for a few days later. Low and behold, I again was unable to make it to my appointment. This was a horrible cycle that must be broken. I had to go in, I had to. I made another appointment for a few days later. Nickk was uncertain on whether or not I would make it, but promised to be there anyways. I showed up.....
..35 minutes late. Better late than never though. Nickk and I sat and debated over metal staples vs. tygon while the clamps went through the autoclave. I wanted tygon. He was pushing steele. I won. He cut peieces of tygon about four inches long. I freaked out. No way did I want them that big. They would take forever to heal, not to mention getting that much skin in the clamps. Again, I won. He pulled out the needles... I cautiously checked the packages, I always do. Confused on why they were a 12g, Nickk explained he would rather use a 12g needle for 14g tygon... they will heal better ultimately. Figuring I had won enough of the battles so far, I listened to the pro. Everything was set. Gloves and masks out, pen (for marking me), needles, surgi-lube, green soap solution, paper towels. All we had to do was mark, clamp, and poke.
Not before a quick smoke break of course though. And then it was time. I laid down, and unbuttoned my pants. Unlike all these girls who get them up high, I wanted mine low. Not visible unless I chose for them to be, and actually sitting directly on my hip bones. Ten minutes later I was marked. One of the tattoo artists walked in. He was early coming in that day, and wanted to watch. And this is where I get nervous. When it's just me and my piercer, I'm fine. I'm not worried hat he will laugh at me if I freak out. He has seen me drool all over the place when I got my tongue pierced, laughed at me freak out at the thought of him putting the recieving tube up my nose for my nostril, and smelt the dreaded stinky-ear smell of my retired stretched out lobes. Do I have to worry around him? no. Other people? slightly.
Quick thinker that I am, I played it off that "Thank God I have someones hand to hold". If anyone has every tried to get about 2.5" of skin in a pair of clamps, knows that it is simply a pain in the ass. That was painfull, I must say. But once they were on, I was ready. I looked down, and watched as the needle ran it's way through my body. From one side of my skin, through, and poked out the other end. Followed by a piece of tygon, and off went the clamps. The ball was screwed on, and skin stretched out. A few seconds later, blood.... and a lot. The downside to piercing with a bigger gauge.... You bleed a lot. I knew that this would happen, and wasn;t worried one bit. We cleaned it up, and let it bleed out as Nickk got ready to do the other side.
Before I knew it, clamp was on my left hip, and again, I watched the needle poke through the top of my skin. And the same sensation and rush as the skin was stretched, and I saw how perfect they were. Leaving lots of tygon on each end so I could swell, bleed, and heal well, I laid there, letting them bleed out, and letting Nickk take pictures.
Finally, I was able to get up, and see them in the mirror. Perfection. I wouldnt ask for anything less from him. I loved them. I still do. This was a little over a week ago, and they are healing just fine. They rub on my pants, and ocasionally get stuck on one thing or another, but thats to be expected. And, they itch every once in a while. Sign of infection? Maybe. Am I worried? Nope. I take good care of my piercings. They're just as much a part of me as my hair and eyes are. I'll update on the heaing process as I find the time, but for now, my beautiful hip piercings look great, and I love them!
