I started to get piercings a year and a half ago. I began with the usual mods: tongue, labret, and then my ears. But as soon as I got a new piercing I saw it on twenty other people. It isn't that those mods are bad because everyone gets them I just wanted something I haven't seen on anyone in my area, something original, something very me.

As I have done with all my body mods I logged on to BME and did a butt load of research. I started by looking at pictures and reading a lot of experiences. A few things seemed interesting but nothing really jumped out at me. Then I saw the anti-eyebrow.

The anti-eyebrow piercing immediately appealed to me like no other has. The only problem was they were too close to the ear and looked a little too crooked. I decided I was going to get it directly under my left eye. I haven't seen it on any one around here and I think it will look really cool.

So my mind was set and I just had to convince my mother to sign the paper work. I showed her a couple pictures that I liked from BME, read her about three or four of the experiences, and she said it "didn't look all that bad". Score! She said she would sign for it.

A couple days later me and a couple of friends were going to go to El Paso so I decided to head down to my favorite piercing parlor, Stainless Studios, and talked to my piercer, Robert, about getting it done that day. He said he could do it but it would take about half an hour because he had to bend the barbell into a staple shape. I said that was fine and stayed in the waiting area looking at books of tattoos that had been done at the shop.

After the bending and sterilization was done Robert said he was ready for me to come back into the piercing room. After I sat down he started by telling me exactly how the procedure was going to go. After I understood completely he wiped off my face and marked were the placement would be. He had me check the placement and I told him I wanted it more directly under my eye. He re-did the marks and it was absolutely perfect. He then took out the needle and had me inhale deeply and he pushed it through on exhale (Woo, that was the feeling I was looking for). There was a little bit of bleeding so he wiped that away. The jewelry went in easy as could be and we were done. It looked great.

When we were finished he broke the needle and went over the after care. Sea Salt soaks twice a day for about five to ten minutes and wash with Dial soap. I asked about migration and he told me if it gets too red and I can clearly see the corners of the staple to come in immediately. Then he said to come back in a few weeks for smaller jewelry. I paid and tipped Robert, told him I really liked it, and said I'd be back in about a month for my next piercing.

After I left the shop I started to feel kind of light headed so we went to an ice cream place and got something to eat. The rest of that day I felt fine and we went to El Paso and had a blast, new piece of metal and all.

The day after I accidentally hit my new piercing thinking it was dirt on my face. It hurt a whole hell of a lot and I went and soaked it right away. The next day I called the studio and Robert said it should be fine but to let him know if it got too red or anything.

I love the end result and so does everyone else. My friends and family think it's very me. People I've never met before come up to me randomly and the first thing everyone asks is "did it hurt?" I usually just reply, "of course it hurt, it sure as hell didn't tickle", but it was well worth it. I've made a lot of new friends just because I peaked their interest.

It's been a month now and no complications. I haven't gone in for new jewelry yet but I'll get to that soon enough. I'm done with the Sea Salt soaks but I am still washing with Dial soap. I highly recommend this piercing to anyone who wants something different. The pain is minimal and the after care is easy. Maybe some day in the near future I'll get the other one done.
