The new piercing shop was holding a grand opening piercing party, all you could take for 80 dollars, I had already been there and talked to the guys, who are very cool, so I knew the "All you can take" thing wasn't sketchy like some people said, but just a one-time promotion. (Also, most people only got 2 to 4)

I went down right after school to wait for my turn to get pierced, I figured I'd get 5, both eyebrows, both nostrils and the left side of my lip, since that's the ones I really wanted and I'm not that big on pain. Me and my friend were sitting, waiting for our turns and we learned that the current record was 11. That started me wanting to beat it, since 12 doesn't seem like that big a number.

Eventually, I was sitting in the chair, Dane, knowing a little of what I was like since I go in often asked if I was going to try for the record, I decided I would. We started with my eyebrows. He marked them, got my approval (if they don't get your approval, that's odd, be a little weary) and then went to work on my first holes of the day. Eyebrows were so pain-free I figured I could do it easily (I had previously had one side done, but took it out for work). Next, it was my nostrils, I'm glad they bend the needle, I already have my septum pierced, didn't need it done again, a little bit of watering in my eyes, but I was still raring to go.

Now it was time for the first lip piercing, on the left side. I was quite nervous for this one, since I hadn't had anything lip-related before and this was piercing number 5. He did it and my friend who was with me told me you could see the flesh in the needle. That made me laugh (well, as well as you can with a fresh piercing) and I decided I could keep going.

Next was a stupid move, as I got the most painful piercing in the middle of the set. The anti-eyebrows. The clamps hurt pretty much as much as the piercing itself, so if you can handle the clamps, you should be fine getting them. What I wasn't prepared for at all, was how much they made my eyes water, or how much the right side swelled. Only one side got really swollen and it started right after the piercing, I think he said he went a little deeper with that one which would explain it. I was in a lot of pain, and wanted a break, but the rules were, once you stop you're done, so I had to keep going.

Now if was time to finish the lip off. First it was the right side. It's also perfectly even with my left side, so either I wasn't swelling that bad on the left or Dane took it into account really well. I thought it was easier then the other side actually because I was concentrating on how much my anti-eyebrows hurt. I talked to my friends a little to tell them how I was doing, and how I figured after he finished the next one, I wouldn't really be talking much for awhile. So, he clamped me for the third time on my swollen lip, in the centre this time, and he poked the needle through. Probably because of the swelling form either side this one hurt a lot more then anything else up to that point except the anti-eyebrows. After that, I was pretty much done talking.

The next thing I said though, was to answer Dane when he asked "What next?" I told him to poke 3 holes in my ear (just one side to I could attempt to sleep at least a little on my side, because usually, I'm a full out side sleeper). I didn't realize when he started doing the first one in my cartilage , so it scared the shite out of me. That ones is a little messed up, I think because of the jump. The one he did afterwards, directly above turned out perfect. The third one was surprisingly painful. It was my rook. I would rank it right behind my anti-eyebrows, but if you're thinking of it, remember, I had just gone through 11 other piercings. I figured I'd pass out or something after I stood up after all that, but other then a little shakiness, nothing happened.

Afterwards, I went out and attempted to eat with my friends (which involved me braking up the food before putting it behind my lip) then bought salts to clean the piercings. I couldn't eat normally for a few days and drinking without using a straw took a little longer then that. I wasn't working at the time so I stayed home a lot so I could keep my pircings as clean as possible, and out of the 12, only two had any problems, both were just small keloids, one was one side of my nostril though, so I took it out to let the keloid heal and I'll get it redone later. I also had to take out the anti-eyebrows because I couldn't sleep with them in (being a side sleeper) so now I only have 9 of the left, but I'll remember them all, and being in that much pain.

If you want to get more then two or three piercings at a time, think about it first and decide if you can take care of them right. I wouldn't have got them if I had a job at the time because I wouldn't have enough time with work and school to take care of them properly. Cleaning them is also an issue, I'd have to our a bath to clean mine (and my sink was too small) and spend over half an hour cleaning and turning all the piercings. Also, you're going to have to be a lot more careful with things you do (taking off tee-shirts was hell for a week or so) because being mindful of that many at once is rather hard. Good luck to anyone trying to break my record, as long as you can deal with the pain and take care of that many afterwards, do it, and good luck!
