As long as I can remember I've been interested in body mods. Unfortunately I'm originally from a small town where this is widely unaccepted. We have one tattoo/-piercing parlor. I don't know how I came across Bme but it was my savior and now my favorite website. I have learned do much from this site.

I've after browsing galleries every day I finally decided on a nape piercing. No one around here has it. And not many people have ever seen or heard of it. Hell... I think I've taught all my coworkers about at least 10 percings they never knew could be done.
So I finally decided. That was the easy part. Owen Sound's single parlor doesn't do surface piercings. (Surprise, surprise) So I made my way back to the city of London where I recently spent 2 years. Anthony's of London is where I had most of my piercings done where I lived down there but I was still unsure of whether or not Anthony did surface piercings. I ended up being in town finishing up some Christmas shopping and figured I might as well go check it out. Lucky me... Anthony had done quite a few surface piercings and was willing to do my nape for me. I guess I wasn't expecting him to do them so I immediately got a little freaked out. But I was there... and I knew I wouldn't be back in the city for a while so it was now or wait around wanting. I filled out my consent form and it was going to be a 30 min wait. I wandered around browsing through a few store and picked up a slushy. The whole time I was pinching the skin of my nape trying to consider how much this was going to hurt.
Well 30 min passed and Anthony was ready. As usual his booth was immaculate. He showed me the jewelry. A bioplast barbell, which was something, I had never seen before. Explained the procedure and starting marking out the piercing. Anthony gave me the option of whether I wanted to lie down on my stomach or sit up. I figured that I had better lay down in case I yelled... then I would yell into the pillow.
He applied the clamp... I stated my usual breathing... deep breathes in and then out as the needle goes through. And it was done. Ill admit it hurt. But not nearly as much as I thought. It was quick and as usual was way more worried about the pain then I had to be. I figure maybe that's why I keep getting piercings. Yeah.. Sure they hurt but not as bad as I think they're going to. Maybe I will stop when I find one that hurts as much as I think it will.
Anthony cleaned me up and explained the surface piercing aftercare. When I left Anthony's booth the counter attendant was very excited to see my new nape. She had never seen a nape piercing before and was in awe of it. It seems like every time I go to Anthony she needs to take a look at my piercing because she has never seen them before. Maybe I should be working there eh.? The aftercare at first was a challenge because I cant see it right. But after a few times you get used to it. I now carry quitips a mirror and a cleaning solution in my purse so I can clean it at work.
Reactions around here are quite funny. I've seen what can be done so when I see a surface piercing (rarely) I usually ask the person about where they got it done and the experience. Other people look at me like I'm crazy and are in shock that you can actually get your nape pierced. My town is oblivious to what a person can do as far as Body Modification goes. I've started bring copies of Savage to work so they can see what's out there... and hand out your website address on a almost a daily basis. People ask me questions about piercings and I try to answer them as best I can but in the end I say, "if you really want to know what is out there... got to BME"
Now I am looking into several more surface piercings. Another nape and a Madison. I'm also planning a corset project for my lower back. I guess you could say I've caught the piercing bug and I don't see myself slowing down anytime soon. As for my parents... after the nape piercing... I don't think anything I can shock them anymore so I guess its smooth sailing from here.
Thank you.
