For years now I have wanted my hand webbing between my pinkie finger and my ring finger pierced but never plucked up the courage to get it done. I have read loads of articles on bmezine about other peoples DIY web piercing and their experiences and I found them really interesting. The reason why I wanted my web done so much was simply because I have never met anybody in person with one. So I thought it would be different. I told my mates at school that I was thinking about getting it done and they think that is it a bad idea but I do not care, I wanted it done and I was getting it done nothing was going to stop me. I have 13 piercing already and done 4 of them myself. But I just dint dare do this one by myself I did not want to go to a professional because 1 I do not have the money and 2 They do not last long anyway. My best mate Tiff has been telling me for ages that she would do it for me but I was too chicken What if I hit a vein or something. It was risky.
At A Glance Author Lois When It just happened Artist my best mate Tiff with the help of Alice Studio In my bedroom Location near hull Anyway last night Tiff came round and we chilled out binge drinking and good old gossip until the conversation came up about my web piercing. We sat and looked at the needles and talked about what I would put in it if I were to get it done. We I decided that a ring would be better because it would not catch on so many things as a bar would. And also do it on my left hand, as I am right handed. Originally I wanted to get he web between the thumb and index finger but I thought that it would be a lot more painful and takes loads more time to heal.
After a few hours of discussion and debating we was ready and willing to do it. I had acquired some professional piercing needles during that week so it was going to be a lot safer than using a huge safety pin or something like that we gathered everything that we would need. Even a box of tissues just in case it bled.
We had it all planned out I was going to use the smallest needle as I have four different sizes and I was going to use a small silver ring. We cleared the area in the room and place a small stool in the middle. I used an antiseptic alcoholic wipe to clean down the areas and the needles etc. we shone a small torch under my web to check for any veins. There where quite lot of veins in the way so we had to dodge them (would not wanna hit one!) we then marked up where the needle we going to go with a small black dot.
'Right lets do this thing' I was really nervous at this point and my hands began to shake. Tiff removed to needle from the sterilized packed and hovered it over the dot. "Are you ready?" Tiff said. I held Alice's hand tight Took a big gulp or Gin and watched whilst Tiff rammed the needle thought my web it took some force but it managed to go right through quickly. The feeling was really strange; it did not hurt as much as I thought it would of. It was more of a throbbing pain than a stinging sensation. Everything was going smoothly but then the plastic tube around the needle went wrong. "Shit" I yelled I told tiff to take it out. Alice grabbed another needle "ram it through the same hole Tiff" I said, in panic she quickly shoved the new needle through. to my surprise it went exactly through the same hole, I was impressed. However my hand began feel very tight as the piercing swelled. Gladly it did not bleed at all.
Tiff removed the needle and treaded the ring through the plastic tube but the ring was slightly bigger than the tubing so it took a little while to thread it through. She then pulled the tubing out leaving the ring through my web. After we had closed the ring it was all done. I could not believe it. It was dead central and everything. Wow I loved it I finally got it done after all this time I am going to get a 1.1mm ring next week to put in as the ring I have in now is a 0.8mm.
I would recommend this piercing to anyone. It really is a superb, but I suggest that you get a professional to do it. I'm planning to get it done again when it grows out.
And I just want say a big thank-you to Tiff. You're a star, Thank-you to Alice too (sorry if I hurt you hand) x
