Monday 6th September 2004, my sister Hannah had gone back to school today for the morning and I had to collect her at lunchtime. All my family were out, so I was home alone - bored.

I have quite a few at the moment but I really had the urge to get something new done to myself.
I narrowed it down to two piercings that I wanted; a tongue web or a surface bar. They both seem uncommon which is what I like about them.
There was a new studio that had been built in town, which was right near to Hannah's school, so after I collected her we drove to town. I told her I was going to get a new piercing and her face lit up straight away - I think she wanted to get one too.
Unfortunately, as this studio had only just opened, they had not received their piercing supplies. It was very small in there too. You had to walk into a hairdressers and then up the stairs to get to the studio, and I thought it was weird for them to have opened up when they didn't have any of their supplies?
I drove back to my regular studio and straight away I looked at the prices for a tongue web and surface bar.
My mum is really strict with piercings and she doesn't know half of the stuff I have had done. I've managed to hide a frowny, septum, rook and an ink from her so far hehe.
I was guessing that a tongue web would be easy to hide, but I really wanted to get a surface bar just because it was really different. I decided to get one on my wrist as I could put sweat bands or braceletey type things to cover it when my mum was around hehe.
The lady (I forget her name - sorry!) came out and asked me if I needed any help, so I told her that I wanted my wrist pierced and I filled out my form. (didn't need to show ID as I'm in there pretty much all the time!)
Richard my piercer was just finishing off a tattoo so me and my sister were thinking about any other things we would be able to hide from our mum hehe.
He then called me into the room, and my sister came in to watch. I'm beginning to think I'm becoming a bad influence on her - she's getting almost as bad as me with being fascinated with piercings and getting new mods!
Richard sprayed something onto a paper towel then wiped my wrist. He then drew two dots on my wrist for the entry and exit hole of the needle. I had to stand up and put my arm down by my side so that he could see that it was straight, I sat back down and he then sprayed the numbing spray onto my wrist.
The needle was put through - I could hardly feel it - and then Richard threaded a curved barbell through.
He then put a patch on my wrist and taped it up as it was bleeding a little bit. It looked so pretty.
I paid my £40 and then I was off! a new piercing YAY! they always make me feel happy.
I got home and left the patch on for an hour or so, then I cleaned the dry blood off with a cotton bud (Q-tip) and left it alone. Apart from rinsing it when I have a shower I always agree with the LITHA method.
The next day it was a bit red, and felt bruised but it has been fine.
Seeing peoples faces when they see it is hilarious. I work in a clothes shop and any time I'm on the till I see customers trying to nudge their friend to look at my wrist without me noticing, or as soon as I have served them they walk off and whisper then one of them turn around to try and get a glimpse hehe.
It is now Thursday and my pretty little wrist decoration is still a bit red. I think it will probably grow out by Christmas.
I start a nursing course later this month so I need to try and find a clear tygon bar for it as we're not allowed piercings whilst we work in the hospital. I need to get retainers for all my other piercings too.
Never mind, its worth having my lovely wrist piercing even only for a small amount of time but it is a shame that they grow out. 18 piercings now - cant wait for my next one!
Happy piercing people!
