I have not had a piercing done by another person since I was very young, say a few months old when my mother decided I needed my ears pierced. Since I was twelve, I've done my own 2nd ear lobes, 3rd and 4th left lobes, twice done and failed tragus, and various others that were just play piercings. So, this was an experience that I hope I will never forget.

I've wanted to start on a great project involving about 30 or so piercings and I finally decided to go ahead and get started on it. I've been talking to people all over Jacksonville, visited a few studios, found some of the good and some of the bad. I've unfortunately missed some of the great piercers that used to work here. Oh well. I finally decide I'll go with the girl who's done the most odd and successful piercings I've seen. I'd met her a few times before. I swear - she's almost OCD about being clean. And, she's never had anyone pass out in relation to a piercing. Amazing.

We ate before going over there. I hadn't eaten all day, so I made myself eat at Subway. When I first went into the shop, I was a little nervous. I was with two of my better friends who are now even better because they were with me. The whole pain factor hadn't really been brought up. I've passed out from all chemical injections in my life. Except one, this was recent as well. But, with the various piercings, nothing had ever gotten me to that point. So, I go into the room and she asks if I was wearing a bra. I'm not surprised. I was and so she measured where she was going to do the piercing, being careful that it was straight and even and that it would not interfere with my bra. And then... we sat outside. All the stuff she was going to need was in the autoclave, doing its thing, being all nice and clean for me. It's pretty slow so we sat outside and chatted and my nerves were calming down. There were guys playing hacky sack in the parking lot. I was mostly glad that it took her longer to clear her mind than for me to calm down. She didn't let anyone in when we went to work on the actual piercing. Apparently, they just got in the way. I didn't mind that so much. I had one of my plushies with me because I'm almost a total baby when it comes to pain. I was getting a surface in my sternum. I'm still not entirely sure of what she used... it's clear and flexible. I was really happy when she had me lay down for the whole thing. I had seen in most studios that everyone was sitting up for their procedures and I did not think I could stand that. She was really nice, kept asking if I was alright. She must have changed gloves about six times. The actual piercing procedure didn't hurt nearly as much as I had expected. There were a few tries with the clamp because there really isn't much flesh there. I saw the needle and she saw my eyes get wide and she just told me not to look. The clamp hurt pretty bad. I barely even felt the needle going through and the n the jewellery I didn't even notice at all. Then she took the clamp o ff and finished turning the balls onto the ends. I finally looked down and realised that I was bleeding pretty badly. I was a little amazed but, what else would happen when a needle is randomly shoved into your flesh? She changed gloves and started cleaning it up. While she worked on the blood, she was going over all the aftercare. After about probably twenty minutes of cleaning up blood, a few pairs of gloves, she finally stopped because I wasn't bleeding nearly as badly. She gave a few packs of gauze to keep cleaning it up if I needed it and then gave me a little thing on the aftercare. Good thing - she repeated herself many times but I still couldn't think straight. She let me lay there as long as I wanted. She's never had anyone pass out on her from a piercing. That's always good to know! Afterwards, my friends and I basically did a little celebration of Thai food and Godiva's dark chocolate ice cream. I will forever eat sweets after getting a piercing like this done!

I'm soooooo glad that I did this. It's inspired me to get more. She took a few photos for her portfolio so I'll post some of them here later. I'm going back in a few days to get it checked out, make sure it's still wonderful. Get some clean pictures this time - the first ones were a little bloody. I really liked getting this because I've been in a mood that I haven't really like I was myself... like I wasn't really real.. or here. But, now, I feel human again and it's wonderful. I did show it off a bit after I got it. I've gotten a lot of strange looks, some looks of interest. Of course – guys love this. It's a cleavage piercing. It's fun.
