One Saturday afternoon during my lunch break, I decided that I was in desperate need of a new piercing.

Hand web!
I immediately asked to have this piercing done. I was taken into a small room that smelt like the dentist. The woman pull out some paper towling and told me to sit on the chair. She then proceeded to gather all of the necessary equipment. As she was doing this she told me all about the risks and the heeling procedure. Once I knew all of the information she asked me if I was sure that I wanted it done. Of course I was.
Now came the hard bit. I had to choose the jewellery that I wanted in it. After a few minutes, I opted for a purple titanium bar.
I also had to choose which hand I wanted it on. I wasn't very sensible and I immediately said right.
One problem.....
I'm right handed.
After making my choice she cleaned the area that I was having pierced and opened a new needle. Within seconds the procedure was complete.
I went back to work feeling very happy with myself and my piercing. I was in no pain at all and it hadn't really swollen up.
I finished work at half past 5 and couldn't wait to show my parents the latest addition to my collection.
Bad idea.
They were horrified. They screamed and shouted a lot but eventually gave in.
2 days later!
I was in agony. The piercing began to swell 24 hours after it was done. The bar was far too short. It was only 6mm. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain but I decided to change the bar to a longer one. As soon as the short one was out I started to feel better.
Although it feels a lot better it is constantly in the way. I have to wash my hair one handed I have to hold a pen at a peculiar angle and its quite hard trying to do my jeans up with my left hand!
I've also noticed how dry my skin is around the piercing. It wasn't too bad at first but now it is sort of peeling away like snake skin or something.
I went into school and showed all of my friends what I had had done over the weekend and they were all disgusted. Some were even worse than my parents.
Gossip spread very quickly around the school and it wasn't long before I found myself sat in the head mistresses office. She went MAD! She said that if I didn't take it out then I would be expelled. She also said that she wanted the rest of my piercing out which include: 17 in my ears, my nose, 3 in my tongue, my nipple and 4 in my belly button.
After refusing to remove it she started to lecture me about piercing laws. I said that I was fully aware that I was too young to even have my piercing but that wasn't the issue. The argument went on for 25 minutes and I eventually won.
Well, I say I won but I have to wear a big plaster over it at all times and I am not allowed to show anyone during school hours.
Shock horror.
My piercing was doing fine until Christmas day!
I was innocently pulling a cracker with my brother when his hand slipped... he ended up pushing one end of the bar into my hand whilst lifting the other end up in the air causing it to rip and bleed.
After cleaning it thoroughly I noticed that the damage wasn't fatal. It was still in my skin and only a small part of it was ripped.
I had to go to the doctors and get some antibiotics to avoid infection. They seemed to work quite well.
I have now had my piercing for just over a month and it's the best thing I have ever had done. It is looking very clean and isn't red or swollen.
The best thing about it is that it scares lots of people. They all think that I am a freak. Well, I'd rather have my piercing and be a freak than not have it and be sad and boring. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks!!
After looking at all of the amazing piercing on this site I have decided to go and have a star done in surface piercing around my navel . I have also been very intrigued by the corset piercing but I think that one might have to wait until I am 16.
