This story is about my hand web, it was my favorite piercing I've had yet, so I think you should read up on them and read this story and seriously consider getting it done, or at least recommend it to someone in search of a cool piercing.

I wasn't into piercings too much at the time as I only had my lip done but I really enjoyed them so I suggested we get another one at the same time, I thought it would be easier, Im not sure why. We talked about a few places that might look good and weren't too popular. When we thought of the skin between the pointer finger and the thumb, we looked up some photos on the internet. After seeing a few on BME we decided it was definitely the thing to get.
The hardest part about getting this piercing was talking my parents into letting me get it. My parents, like most people's, have some crazy opinion about all piercings and how bad they are. I would go and get whatever piercings I wanted but my parents control a few things that I need like a car and dumb shit like that.
We didn't actually get them done until a few weeks later because we needed the money and we were a little lazy. Neither of us knew if we could even get it done, but when we went to customs and asked about it Brodie said he would do it, so we both got it done then.
My friend was the first to get it done, up until the point when I saw it I was a little nervous, but the second I saw how awesome it looked I couldn't wait to get mine done. When he actually did the piercing procedure, I looked away as I always do, I somehow think it is less painful if I don't look at it.
The hand web piercing was the most painful I've gotten so far(I've only gotten my lip twice, the hand web and a wrist bar, so that might not mean anything) it was really cool though.
To care for the hand web all I did was soak it in water and sea salt every night, I used a glass peanut butter jar, it was the least awkward way I could think of. Other than that I guess all I did was wash my hands a lot. Some problems I encountered were getting it caught on a few things which was really painful, this didn't happen too often though, mostly just on the steering wheel on my car.
After about two weeks i stopped soaking, again because i was too lazy which was a bad idea because it started to get infected and after a while it hurt too much to bare so I took it out.
I definitely am glad I got it done because it was really cool when I had it in and it didn't even leave a scar. I'm even thinking of getting the other hand done...
I'm also going to suggest that you don't get a ring, mainly because I think they look bad. So a barbell is definitely the way to go.
My friend still has hers in but it doesn't look too healthy, it is really red and infected looking, but she claims it doesn't hurt, so she is leaving it in.
I think a hand web is a good idea for anyone to think about getting because if you don't want to get an obvious piercing on your face or something like that, then a hand web can be easily hidden or shown off. Also it is a somewhat unique piercing as not many people have it done.
I think that my hand web was a major step in me getting more and more into piercings, it made me realize that eyebrows, lips and noses weren't the only thing to get pierced. Also it introduced me to BME, which has awesome pictures and good ideas for a lot of unique piercings.
So all in all I think anyone should get this done, I don't think that it could possibly look bad on anyone and you strike up really interesting conversations with anyone who notices it, which is mostly only people at the cash when you are paying them or someone sitting beside you while you're writing. Also I suggest you get it done on what ever hand you write with, I'm not sure why but it just seems right. I got it on my left hand and I'm left handed and my friend got it on her right(she's right handed) it didn't get in either of our ways when writing or doing whatever else, so yeah...
