My adventure started one day when i went downtown with my friend. I had 55$ and didn't know what to spend it on...so I went to Artistic Impressions. Man I love it there. My friend just wanted to buy a belly ring for herself... but I wanted an actual piercing! I had an idea of getting a horizontal surface piercing on my lower back. The piercer named Jeremy said that he didn't have any long enough surface bars left and that I would have to go to out of the past and get a tongue barbell that was a bit over an inch. I filled out the sheet that had all my info on it. (apparently, I have to fill out this sheet incase someone jumps me and pierces me, haha) I should really photocopy those damn sheets and just change the date on them, since I've filled them out so much. Damn.
At A Glance Author Christine Contact piercedsparkles@hotmail.com When A week ago Artist Jeremy Studio Artistic Impressions Location St. Catharines So off I went, walking down to out of the past with my friend. It was dark out and we tried to avoid the drunk people as much as possible. When we went in, I asked if they had any tongue barbells that were a bit over an inch. They didnt have any. Damn. So I asked what else they had, because I really wanted this piercing. Luckily they did have industrial barbells that were about 1.5 inches. I went with it. So there went 20 bucks for the barbell.
I walked back into artistics and gave the barbell to Jeremy so he could sterilize it. While I was waiting, I saw two of my friends come in, one was geting her navel pierced and the other was getting her tongue web pierced. So i watched them get pierced while waiting for my barbell. It was rather interesting, since I was the only one out of 3 of my friends who actually wanted to watch the tongue web piercing. The other two were grossed out by the needle going through, but I seemed to like it. It was cool, after she couldnt talk and had a speeth impedimenth and i made fun of her...in a nice way.
After my barbell was ready, he called me in the back room to get pierced. Hehe I was excited and full of energy. He then bent the industrial bar into a surface bar with pliers or something of that sort. After that he then marked my lower back...it felt like forever because he wanted the dots to be straight. He then told me to go lay on the table. As he put his gloves on and got everything ready, he came over and looked at my back again. He then told me to get off the table, and wanted to mark it again because it looked crooked. When i got off the table, he told me that it looked straight again. So back up on the table i went. Hmmmm, I dont like this game anymore, hehe(haha he was paranoid, poor guy, hes the greatest!)
He then pinched my back, and asked if i was ready. I said yes! Oh man, was i ever ready! He then picked up the 12g needle (He used a 12g needle so i couldnt feel the threading)and pushed it through...very slowly so that it would be straight. Everytime he stopped he would ask if I was alright and apologize for taking so long. It took about a minute or so. The pain wasnt that bad. Then it was time for the bar to go in. It wasnt exactly the nicest feeling in the world. It hurt probably more than when the needle went though. After that he screwed the balls on. I was sooo happy! It was finally done! He took a few pics of it to put in his book and then bent my needle and put it in the jar with the other bent needles so it wouldn't be used ever again!
We then went to the front of the studio, and he said that 30$ would be fine, since I bought the barbell. So 50 bucks for the whole surface piercing. Not a bad price at all. Usually surface piercings cost around 65-75 bucks. Thank god for knowing the piercer! He then made me show the people in the studio who were standing around, as well at the tattoo artists. I didn't need the aftercare sheet because I have already gotten so many piercings there. Save trees!
I have now had my piercing for about 3 days, and surprisingly it doesnt hurt to lay on it. Although it bleeds quite alot, but Jeremy said that blood would be normal. Woohhoo im bleeding, that means I'm human!
If anyone wants to get a piercing or a tattoo in St.Catharines, artistic impressions is a very awesome place. i recommend it to everyone! Jeremy is my hero! hehe happy piercing.
