My Madison, oh how I love thee......

This is the completely truthful acount of my wonderful, lovely, pretty, beautiful, truly amazing madison.

Well as I was pouring over BME sobbering over all the wonderful things this site has to offer, I happened upon a picture of a madison.

It was *in my opinon* absolutely gorgous, love at first sight. That's what brought me here to bme. I go on bme so often and learn more and more every day about the piercing world. One day while I was looking at pictures I saw a picture of a female with the base of her neck pierced. Originally I was amazed that it looked like a necklace. It looked absolutely beautiful. It complimented her neck, her shoulders and collarbone well. I sat around all day and looked at pictures, admirering how pretty the madison was. And i'd be the only one I knew to get one. Score. YUP YUP YUP.

So after looking at all the pictures and reading up on all the expieriences so I was fully prepared, I decided to adorn my body once agian. (I have 2ga lobes, industrial, daith, rook, septum, nipples, and my navel done)

I made an appointment with my regular piercer, spike *scary name, very neat guy* That monday I set out with my girls Beth and Rachel, we stopped to eat at waffle house (heck yeah that shiznit is good) *lol* then drove down to AP for the big moment. As we were driving I began to think of all my other expieriences and how much piercing means to me, its not just fashion but almost spritual in a way. I consider my body a temple I like to express myself through Mods and such. I always start to get nervous when I walk into AP because unlike some people, I don't enjoy the pain factor, i'm more of a "oooo pretty" kinda girl. Anyway, spike takes me into the back room (an actual room not just a chair with a curtain pulled around it, which I like) and sets everything up. I begin to eye the needles wondering if I made a big mistake. Spike notices i'm uneasy and tells me in 5 minutes it will all be over.

Then began the placement, This took 20 minutes of standing, sitting, deep breathing, and general upper torso moving so she could see where the piercing would go back to center. I have to say, that I didn't expect, but really appreciated it! After that he put the clamps on (minimal pain) and before I knew it, the needle had gone through alomst painlessly. Whoo hoo! But I did feel the jewlerly a bit, just a little stinging. But I bled more than the damn red sea! After soaking towel after towel with blood I was finally ready to go. I thanked spike and was on my way. After that we went to the mall and Beth just HAD to go to abercrombie where I got a lot of strange "why is that oddly dressed girl bleeding from her neck?" looks, needless to say it was quite amusing. My boyfriend loves it, he thinks is the sexiest thing he's ever seen (except me he says, lol) He's going to get a PA next week, and i'm supposed to go with him but I don't know if i'll be able to stand the pain of wat ching!

Healing~ On the day after it's still a little sore and red and the base of my neck is kinda stiff. I know that there is a great chance could have rejected, which is why made sure that I was caring for it properly. I'm washing it twice a day with dial antibacterial (which is what I've always used to heal my piercings) and I'm also going to great lengths to make sure that irritants (such as hairspray, makeup, etc.) don't get anywhere near it. It's been hot out and I did get a little sweat into it last night and boy did that sting. I also clean off the crusties off of it with q-tips sometimes and sometimes I did put lotion if it got a little dry.

I cleaned it with salt water and put neosporin on it regularly for the next 3 weeks, I was very lucky it didn't reject since my piercings often do. Yup I was scared at first but I found it to be really rewarding in the end. So I would recomend this piercing to anyone, its really great and I think you'd enjoy it. Anyway thats my really neato story and hopefully i'll have some tattoo tails as well, but as of right now i'm broke so...darn it darn it darn it. hehe

I love my madison!

See ya later bye bye
