me and my girlfriend were out and about one day and were kind of bored. we had nothing better to do, so we decided to stop by the only piercing shop in town that we feel comfortable at. the two of us went inside just to say hello to our friends that were working.

Location ft. myers, florida after being there for a few minutes, my girlfriend and i decided she would get some sort of piercing before we left the shop that day. we sat there for about an hour trying to figure out what she should have done. she was not quite sure, but she knew she wanted to have something pierced. she decided she wanted some sort of surface piercing.
after a little while she decided on her nape(which is something i had wanted to do for a while). there was one problem, she was worried about the pain. so she asked me if i wanted to get my nape done too. i did not have the money so she said she would pay for me to get mine done too. so, being that she was nervous, she wanted me to go first. so with that said and done we went into the piercing room to be prepped.
it took brad a little while to clean my nape and make sure the piercing would not come out crooked. he wanted to make sure it came out just right(like all piercers should). so after about twenty minutes brad was finally ready to take a stab at it(ha ha ha). he tried to use clamps on my neck but my skin was too thick for the clamps to stay on right. so shawn(one of the other piercers) had to come over and help hold my neck to do it without the clamps. brad lined the needle up, put a cork on the other side of my skin and shoved the needle though. after three good pushes the needle was finally through. as the needle was passing through my skin it sent a warm tingle down my spine. it was a wonderful feeling. brad then lined the p.t.f.e. up with the needle and pushed through. my jewelry was in. he put the ball on and cleaned it up and i was done.
i got up and my girlfriend asked me if it hurt. i told her it did not hurt, that all i felt was a little tugging on my skin and a warm tingle down my spine. after hearing that my girlfriend was not as nervous as before. so she went through the same procedure.
being cleaned and marked she was ready to go. for her brad used the clamps. he lined the needle up and pushed it through my girlfriends nape. you could tell that it hurt her and she was not to happy with me. the first thing she did when she got off of the table was punch me in the chest as hard as she could. she was upset because it hurt her a lot. she was mad at me for a little while.
the first three days my nape was a pain to clean. i was not used to looking in two mirrors to clean a piercing. for the first week it was uncomfortable. my nape would be red and irritated from my work uniform rubbing against it. my sweat also irritated my new piercing. i followed my piercers cleaning directions. i cleaned it two to three times a day with anti-microbial soap. it took about two weeks before i was able to sleep on my back again.
after about a month i stopped into the piercing shop to say hi and brad was there and wanted a look at my neck. well since he had last seen it it became all puffy and red and was pretty irritated. he looked at it and told me that it was normal for a new nape piercing to look red and have clear goo oozing out of it. he told me to try using sea salt soaks.
i went out and bought myself some sea salt and tried doing the soaks for about two weeks. they were not helping much at all. my nape was still really uncomfortable. i went back and had brad look at my nape again. he noticed that the jewelry had migrated a little bit. he told me to keep an eye on it and watch for it moving out closer to the surface of my skin. after a few more weeks it began to migrate more. i went back and brad said it was looking better but the piercing was not as deep as it was when it was first done.
after a few more weeks it migrated even more and just would not stop oozing. i went back and they told me that when i went home to clean it really good and pull the jewelry out. so that is exactally what i did. it has been about three weeks since i pulled the jewelry out. my nape is all healed up and ready to be re-pierced. so sometime this week i will be going back and having my nape re-done. wish me luck. hopefully this time my piercing will not regect.
