I feel so beautiful now. I, yes ME, am the possessor of the most beautiful piercing in the world. OK, well, yes, probably other people have the same piercing. And probably other people feel the same way about their piercing. But that doesn't change the fact that I am in love! ::Sigh::

I was at my piercer's (Need A New Hole? in Windsor) about a month ago, getting the curved barbell in my tongue web cleaned. My girlfriend and I were looking through the piercing albums and VOILA

...Here lies inspiration.

The most wonderful madison ever. On someone's stomach, about halfway up. Joy, bliss, rapture, ecstasy, all of these things. It was love at first sight let me tell you. I didn't want it exactly there though....I ended up getting a madison on my rib.

It didn't happen quite that fast though. I waited a few weeks to make sure I really was sure about the piercing, and I went back up to N.A.N.H. a few more times, and made Scot and Chris tell me if it was going to hurt unbearably. Scot pinched at my stomach and said it shouldn't be that bad at all (we later come to find that my stomach is made of elastic. Um.). I was completely head over feet with my piercing-to-be by that time. It was all a matter of money....hmmm.

2 weeks later I realized it was meant to be! I got a check from work for $374.15, meaning my raise had finally come through. The time had come to be stabbed. I called N.A.N.H. to make sure I could just go and get the piercing (that they didn't have to order stuff, etc.). I didn't. So that Saturday after I got off work we made our pilgrimage across the border into that wonderful country they call CANADA. (And what a wonderful country it is!)

By the time we got to the studio I was giddy and nervous all at once. It was fabulous. We went in and Chris was there (to anyone who lives in/around Windsor, go to Need A New Hole. It's a great studio and Chris is the coolest boy ever.) and he asked what we wanted pierced. I told him, and then I just wanted to die because I was so excited and so nervous. We (Chris, my girlfriend Sally, my friend Julie, and I) decided to go smoke a cigarette beforehand. While we were outside some obnoxious Detroit kids (Ok, so I am an obnoxious Detroit kid. Woops) drove up and started yelling dumb things. Hmm. We finished smoking and went inside! Yay!

I had already filled out the form and all that. Piercing time had arrived. Chris drew a lot of different places for the piercing, and finally we (my girlfriend and I) decided on a placement corresponding with my bottom rib. By now I was so nervous I thought I would die.

It was just about this time that the annoying kids outside decided to irritate us some more. The large boy with the rejecting eyebrow ring walked through the closed curtains asking what I was getting pierced. How annoying...say I was getting my hood pierced and THE CURTAINS HAD BEEN CLOSED FOR A REASON! I told him this and demanded my privacy. He glared at me and left. About 10 minutes later one of the grrls whined, "How much longer is this gonna take!" Grrowwl. But then it was time finally to be pierced. I lay down on the little bench thing, and my friend Julie handed me a little rubber ball to squeeze if I needed to. I had my girlfriend's hand also. This is where we realized my stomach is elastic...it's like Stretch Armstrong (remember that guy?) or somethin. It was wonderful because the clamp didn't really hurt all that much. The procedure was over very quickly. I expected it to be lengthy. It took no longer than my tongue web did. I also expected it to be SCREAMING, WRITHING, GUT-WRENCHING PAIN. It wasn't. Yay! I wish I could tell you exactly what the procedure was, as that was what I hunted for before I actually got the piercing, but I couldn't see what he was doing and besides I had my eyes closed. :)

And now, finally, my love and I were one! Two beautiful little purple balls sit proudly on my left rib. The love of my life. :)

Today is Thursday and I got the piercing last Saturday. It really hasn't given me any grief at all except while cleaning it and immediately after. I am still so so enthuised about it, and I love it more everytime I see it! It is the barbell of my dreams. ::SIGH::
