Getting my nipples pierced has been a long thought out and well researhed procedure that I am ELATED I did. I had my hood pierced about three years ago, after a long bout with depression. I had my belly button pierced twice and both times it rejected, until finally I got the bottom pierced and its doing fine. So, I was at the dilemma of what to pierce next. I hate my job and thought that I could get pierced a sign of liberation. The only problem is I didn't have any ends, so I had to wait for my tax refund. It came on Friday, and I was off to get pierced.

So, I go home after a HELLISH day, grab my roommate and head out to Ink Gallery on Gallatin Road. I orginally decided to get my left nipple pierced and wait on the right. I wanted to see how it was going to heal. I wanted to get pierced with a barbell, and initially I was told no. But I was determined to get pierced, barbell or cbr. My roommate is very "pious" and although she went, it was obvious she didn't want to be there. So, I'm sitting and talking with the girl at the desk and she tries to convince me to go with a cbr and to get both of the twins done at once. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess, so I decided to get both done but I still wanted barbells. So, I head back solo to get pierced. Nick told me he was cool with piercing with barbells, so off came my shirt and my double slingshot.

Nick was really cool. When I came back to the piercing room, everything was set up and he was wearing gloves. As I was lying on the table, he spilled something on the little silver tray he set up. He threw everything away, disinfected everything, changed his gloves again, put out new "stuff", changed his gloves one more time, and told me to stand up. He marked my ti-tees and told me to lay back down. He loosened up the tissue around the nipple(he just made my nipples hard), and looked at the marks again. He changed his gloves AGAIN!! I couldn't look at the needle going through my flesh, so I turned my head the other way. Nick told me to take some deep breaths and exhale. I took two and on the second exhale, "whoa, nelly!! Mary, mother of Jesus!" Pain but not to bad. I have a very, very high pain threshhold, and this one hurt. But I am a trooper...Okay, one down...one to go. So, Nick tells me to take another couple of deep breaths. I, of course, think that he will pierce me again on the second exhale. Nope, on the first exhale I feel the searing, hot, burning wave of pain accompanied by nausea overtake my body, radiating from my nipple. "OH shit!! Why did I do this? " coursed through my brain. THE SECOND ONE HURTS LIKE SHIT, HELLFIRE, AND DAMNATION!!!

Nick gives my a minute to cope with the pain and then puts the jewelry in. That hurt too!!! Then, he starts to tidy up, and I brace myself to get up. The twins looked mighty purdy! BUT, they throbbed...more pain. I had to go to dance practice. MORE pain, but not bad. Honestly, it really isn't pain, it's just a slight burning sensation that doesn't really go away.

Nick pierced me just slightly behind the nipple. I think that the piercings really compliment my 36 D's. The barbells are simple and easy to care for. I haven't had any crusties AT ALL. It's been almost a week and I am healing nicely, I think. They are still a little sore to the touch, but they get better everyday. I have to sleep in a bra every night, OR lie with my chest against the bed and stay stationary through the night.

Ink Gallery is GREAT!! Nick is GREAT!! The place has bare accomadations (some lawn chairs and an old desk), but it is really clean. Nick is a total professional and made sure that I was pleased with the piercings. He went over after care with me and told me to call him is I had any question, ANY questions at all. What makes it even better is that I have a follow-up visit in two weeks just to make sure that they are healing properly.

All in all, I LOVE my nipples! They are great. They get hard every so often for no reason at all. Although I don't have anybody to "TRY" them out with (yet;), I'm SO happy I did it. But, it does definately HURT!! The second one hurts more than the first one. I think that it hurt more for me because I was expecting it to come later, but it came before I was ready for it to. I think if I expected it, it wouldn't have hurt so much. But, then again the first one hurt, so I may have never been ready for the other one to get pierced. So, if you are not into pain, this is not the piercing for you. But, if you can handle it...GO FOR IT!! I think that if I get pierced again, I will go for another hood piercing, or maybe a CLIT piercing. I don't know, I am still a little afraid of that one. Happy piercings!!
