Over the last few months I have received a couple of piercings from Kelly at Westcoast Piercing. (A couple more in my ears and another one on the bottom of my belly button.) I confided in him that I would like to get a horizontal hood piercing done. He asked if he could look to see if my anatomy would be suitable for it. I lowered my pants and he discreetly looked at my girly parts to see if I could have this piercing. Unfortunately I wasn't built for it. Rats, I was disappointed. He then said that my anatomy would be well suited for a triangle piercing, though. Apparently, not all women are built to have a triangle piercing. I told him that I had a vertical hood piercing done and that it had been a very painful experience and that I was hesitant to go through the pain again. He said he thought it was unusual for the pain to have been quite that bad. I researched the triangle piercing on the web and decided that I liked the look of the triangle piercing and its location. I returned to Westcoast Piercing and told Kelly that I would like to go through with the piercing. We then booked an appointment for it to be done. He said that I could arrive a bit early so that I could feel more comfortable. I didn't really want a lot of clients and staff around to hear me yell. Kelly knew that I was nervous, so he even gave me a little bit of gel anesthetic to apply about a half prior to my being pierced to help with the discomfort, if not ease some of my anxiety.
The day finally came yesterday. I was so nervous, yet so excited, to go and have this done. But I was still petrified of having another experience like my Vertical Hood piercing. I had a nice bath to relax myself and then applied the anesthetic gel and wrapped the area in plastic wrap, to help the gel work better. I popped into my car and drove the short distance to Westcoast Piercing and Ink Den and waited for Kelly to arrive. He wasn't there yet. I thought, maybe he forgot my appointment and wasn't coming. Perhaps I should just leave and forget about it. I decided to call Kelly to see if he had forgotten. Of course he hadn't, he was just stuck in traffic. He apologized and said he would be there shortly. My stomach was in a knot as I waited for him. He arrived a few minutes later. I tried to look cool and calm but I think he saw threw me. But again he made me feel at ease just by talking and joking with me as usual. We have become friends over the last couple of months, between my daughter's piercings and my own and I think that he could see that I was nervous. We filled out the necessary paperwork and then went into the piercing room. He asked me to remove my pants and undies and to climb up on the table. I nervously made silly comments to him and we laughed. I assumed the legs apart position on the exam table, so he could mark me. My poor legs kept trembling. I felt so silly. It is hard to act normally with your legs spread eagle on the table. He told me to relax my legs to help stop the shakes. I heard the sterile packages being torn open, so I knew it wouldn't be long now. He asked me to look and see if the marks he made looked fine. I told him that I trusted him and to place them where he felt they should go. He placed the clamp on and readjusted it a couple of times, to ensure the proper placement, checking with me that is was not too uncomfortable. I said that it was a bit tight, but tolerable. He said to breath in and on breathing out he put the needle through. Wow! I couldn't believe it. I said to him "That's it?" and Kelly replied "Yes, that's it". It was so fast. It didn't hurt that much at all. I was elated! I had my triangle! He then placed the teardrop shaped ring in, with minimal discomfort and attached the pretty gem I chose. He cleaned me up a bit and sprayed me with Sunshine Mist. (An herbal mist he uses to promote healing)
We then discussed my aftercare regiment. Then he said that I was done. I hopped of the table, put my pants back on and thanked him. I paid him and said so long until my next visit.I had a couple of spots of blood during the remainder of the first day and none during the night or the next day. I feel virtually no discomfort.
My Triangle Piercing with Kelly has been a very positive experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I hope that my experiences may help someone else in deciding to get a genital piercing. Not all piercers are the same. I can vouch for that. I would strongly recommend Kelly and his staff at Westcoast Piercing and Ink Den.
