About three weeks ago I decided to finally get a triangle piercing. My husband was due home a few days later so I figured I'd get the piercing before he arrived so that I wouldn't have to deal with the headache of hearing him complain about "yet another genital piercing".

I had heard that Penelope had started doing genital piercings at Lucky's in Northampton, MA so I called there to Check on pricing. I was told that I had to come in to be checked to see if I was "built right" in order to receive the piercing. Penelope had given me my first ever piercing (a vertical clitoral hood) and I trusted her completely. In fact, I wish I had gone to her for my other genital piercings, as well. Lucky's is a bit of a drive for me, but it's so worth it. Penelope is a total professional and makes the process a lot less embarrassing. Plus, you know that the piercing is going to be done right.

So I made the drive to Northampton and Penelope checked me out and ascertained that I was anatomically suited to get a triangle. I filled out the paperwork and was given a soft drink to make sure that I didn't pass out during the piercing.

I went in to the piercing room with Penelope and took off my pants again. She prepared me for the piercing and told me that for some people, the piercing adds to the sensitivity of their clitoris, but that's not always the case. I was told to go into the piercing not expecting it to do anything for me because everybody is different. That way if it added to my pleasure it was a bonus instead of being a disappointment if the anticipated extra stimulation didn't occur.

She had me take several deep breaths. On the third one she told me she was going to put the needle through, which she did. In one word, "OUCH!!!!!!" I will not lie to you, I saw stars! I knew that genital piercing hurt, but this was a bit more than I was used to. The hole in the needle was so big it accommodated a 12 gauge circular barbell. Penelope was kind enough to open the ends of the barbell a bit so that it wouldn't pinch while I was healing. After making sure that I was okay, she walked me out to the lobby. I was told not to worry about the bleeding, it should stop within a couple of days. If it didn't I was instructed to call the shop.

Walking hurt, and I was god-damning the fact that my car was a stick shift the entire way home. When I got to my house, I took a painkiller and went straight to bed. The bleeding stopped after three days. I had to sleep with a pillow between my knees for a week. Spreading my outer labia to wash and soak my piercing was painful due to swelling for a good week and a half. I looked so forward to the salt water soaks!

My husband called later that night and I told him about my new piercing. He groaned and asked how it looked. I told him I was thrilled with it and not to worry, we could still have sex with a condom, he just couldn't go down on me or play with the piercing.

When he arrived home a few days later, we had protected sex. It was too painful to screw in the missionary position and it made my triangle start bleeding again, so we had to have sex doggie-style for a few days. After that, sex in the missionary position was bearable, but it did kind of make my piercing tender again and it cause slight spotting of blood form the wound.

Here it is a few weeks later, and for the most part the pain is gone. If I hadn't been sexually active over the past few weeks, I would probably have stopped having any discomfort last week, but the discomfort from the occasional aggravation really isn't noticeable until I have to spread my outer labia to cleanse and soak my triangle. My piercing does enhance clitoral sensation, but I have to manipulate the barbell to make it do so. I haven't let my husband play with it yet, and he hasn't asked me to. I think he's intimidated by it because of where the jewelry is positioned and he's afraid he'll inadvertently hurt me.

So there you have it! I am so happy I got this piercing that I've dreamed of getting for over three years! Of course it's not going to be my last genital piercing as I still want to get my outer labia pierced with vertical barbells, but it is definitely the one that I am (and always will be!) most proud of!
