I decided I wanted a genital piercing for several reasons. First, there was something sexy and mysterious about having a piece of metal in my panties. I had also heard that some women experience increased sensitivity from their genital piercings. Ultimately I just thought I would enjoy the sensation of having it there, not just during sex. My nipples piercings worked out that way for me and I had hoped to have a similar, if not more intense, outcome with my genital piercing.

I wanted Elayne Angel to pierce me. She had done my nipples and my septum during her last trip to the Detroit area and I was thrilled, not only with the piercings, but with the experience of being pierced by her too. I had to wait several months before she would be back in the area, which gave me the opportunity to chat with several women about their piercings. I saw several hood and labial piercings, but they didn't really appeal to me. One girl showed me her triangle piercing which seemed interesting to me, but I didn't really understand how it worked. I was told that one has to be anatomically suited for that piercing and that it was difficult to execute. After doing some more research I actually decided that I wanted to have my clitoris pierced. I understood that it would be very painful, but I decided the increased sensitivity from it would outweigh the discomfort of the healing period.
Elayne finally returned to the area and I made sure I had an appointment with her. She's such a sweet person and she, not only remembered me, but was excited to be doing a genital piercing for me. My friend Todd was working as her assistant at the time. Knowing that relieved some of my anxiety. I was very nervous as I arrived at the shop. They greeted me and I did the paperwork and waited. The guy before me actually got 10 dydo piercings and rode home on his motorcycle! That actually gave me a little confidence.
My heart was racing as they led me in to the room. Elayne's cheerful demeanor made me relax a little. Todd had told her that I was considering a clitoral piercing and she explained to me that not many people are actually physically suited to have an actual clitoral piercing. She said that she would examine me and suggest what would be best for my anatomy. She asked me to undress from the waist down and get on to the table.
As she examined me she joked that I couldn't even enjoy it because I was so nervous. I laughed because she was absolutely right. After checking me out, she told me that my clitoris was too small and too buried to be pierced. Piercing it would risk losing too much tissue and possibly causing loss of sensation. She said that I could definitely have my hood pierced but she thought I was particularly suited for a triangle piercing. She explained that it's a little more invasive and might take longer to heal, but it would be a functional piercing as well as pretty. I told her ok and picked out jewelry. She recommended a circular barbell with a captive bead. She picked out the appropriate diameter and then told me that I cold be pierced with either a 12 or a 10 gauge. I told her I wanted the 10 gauge. I also picked out a really pretty green textured glass bead for the captive instead of a steele ball. Then it was time.....
I reclined on the table and tried to relax. She changed her gloves and cleaned me up and got all set up. She massaged me to determine the placement and align everything properly. She asked me to take a deep breath and to exhale as she pushed the needle through. One wonderful thing about being pierced by Elayne is that she uses a coupler to attach the jewelry to the piercing needle so that the jewelry goes through immediately with the piercing. That means there is no second sharp pain when the jewelry is inserted and pushes the needle out. The pain was intense, but not actually as bad as I had anticipated, and it was over so quickly that I didn't even have time to think about it. I felt that wonderful endorphin rush as she threaded the ball on to the circular barbell and put the captive it. She even adjusted the jewelry so that I could snap the bead in and out myself when I wanted to change the jewelry. When I saw it in the mirror I loved it! It was bigger than anyone else's piercing that I had ever seen and I could feel the weight of the jewelry.
I bled a little so she cleaned me up and gave me a bandage so that I could get home. The aftercare was a little more complicated than any of my piercings. She told me that I should soak it in a small bath of warm water and avoid any sexual contact for about a week. She told me just to listen to my body and I would know when it was ok to play with it. She also told me that bleeding is sometimes a sign that the piercing will heal more quickly since it's through a vascular area.
I was so anxious to try it out! I did wait almost a full week and then was careful at first. I soon discovered that I was capable of achieving orgasm during intercourse without any external stimulation – something I had never been able to do before. The triangle is designed to run the underside of the clit during penetration and mine definitely worked!
Since then I have stretched my piercing up several gauges and am now at a 4. I really enjoy the weight of the ring and I love the way it looks. I'm actually considering stretching to a 2g, but the thicket the ring – the more difficult it is to change the jewelry. As it is I need to use automotive ring pliers to get the captive bed in and out of my 4g jewelry.
