Let me start by saying it took me a very long time to muster up the courage to even consider a piercing "down there". However, after a lot of research (with the help of BME)I decided to do it. At first I wanted a verticle hood piercing, but then I started seeing stories about how great the triangle was, it wasn't a piercing that I'd heard my friends or co-workers talk about before and I thought it would be cool to have one that my friends hadn't seen before. Not to mention everything I had read said it was a very stimulating piercing, nothing wrong with that!

I have gotton all of my piercings and tats at a very reputable place (which will remain nameless), so I called them up to make sure that A. they were willing to do this type of piercing an B. to make sure the piercer had done a fair amount of this type of piercing before, I didn't want to be the test case! They said they had been doing a lot of them lately, and everyone had been happy with the result, so I set up my appointment. I sat at work all day biting my fingernails down to the nub I was so nervous! Finally five o'clock rolled and it was time. I went in and filled out my paper work and then the piercer showed me some pictures of previous Triangles he had done. He really put me at ease, after all it is a little strange to have some random guy poking around down there. We had originally decided I was going to be pierced with a barbell, 14 guage. But while I was waiting for my turn the owner came in and apparently said that I would have to be pierced with a ring instead, I argued but they said that if I didn't want the ring I would have to go somewhere else- I'm still not really sure why this stipilation was made. We went into the room, I disrobed and got on the table. He looked around the area for couple minutes, asked me if I was ready, told me to take a deep breath and exhale...oh my God- so much more painful than I thought it would be! (But it was nothing compared to the nipples). He told me it was perfect! The pain went away almost as quickly as it came, I got up and took a look in the mirror, got dressed and then he explained the after care instructions to me. He also told me if I had any questions, not to hesitate to call. I tipped him and headed out, thrilled with my new piercing.

Over the next few weeks I didn't even really look at it, I knew if I did I'd want to play with it. I cleaned it twice a day with Provon Soap and rotated it. At the forth week it was healed enough to move around and look at. My first concern was that I had no increased sensitivity like they said I would, no difference at all. Then I noticed when I put a mirror down there that I could see jewelery poking out in the middle of the piercing, as days went by more and more jewelery showed through the center of piercing. I called up my piercer and asked him about it and he asked me to come in so he could look at it. So on a Sunday I headed up there dreading the news I was about to get. He said the placement was off, that he should have pierced a little lower, and that the piercing should have been a little deeper- it didn't actually get underneath the "shaft"? Since the piercing had essentially separated into two piercings he said he could either repierce or try and work with what we had and put a barbell through each hole. I wasn't ready to try again so I opted for the second choice- which might I add looks stupid- the holes aren't even, and are two different sizes. I wore those for about a week and then the other day in the shower one just fell out. At first I thought maybe the piercing tore through, but I realized later the ball on the end of the barbell had managed to push its way through the hole! Well now I'm just fed up- I'm taking it out, both of them! Total waste of money- I think I'll go back to the original idea and get the verticle hood. If I had to guess what went wrong I'd say I didn't have the right anatomy and the piercer just did it anyway. But it could also just be an innocent mistake. Will I let him do my VCH? Maybe but we're seriously going to have to talk first.
