WOO HOO!!

At around 915pm, I was in the chair with a cork on the right side of my clit and a 10g needle on the left side waiting to pierce a triangle. We came into Whole Addictions at 7, but waited while a throng of girls and women went to have their navels done. I was supposed to go before them, but to calm my nerves, I decided they should go first. It definitely was a good decision. Fish was my piercer and he was amazing. John, the owner came in to hold my hand since Heather, the counter girl, was with customers. Charles, the guy who drove me and put up with my nervous chatter and hyperness, also was in the room to hold my hand and offer support. Everyone in the room was completely professional and so nice, which made everything so much easier.

Previously, I had my piercer check to see if I was anatomically correct, which I was, but labeled as a "tight fit." With my 10g internally threaded circular barbell with 1/4" balls, I went to the counter to see if the ball diameter was ok. Fish said it wouldn't be a problem, and might actually be better than a smaller ball. For an hour and 45 minutes I waited while looking at jewelry, nervously chatting, and generally talking about piercings and Family Guy.

Finally at around 900 it was time to go into the back room, just as they were getting ready to close, and just as a group of four came to the door. John, let them in, being the nice guy he is, and Heather had to deal with them, forcing her to be unable to hold my hand and come with me. I saw the sterile packaged clamps, and needle, the gentian violet marker, and new gloves. After he had marked me, I saw Fish change his gloves and get the clamps ready. John and Fish insisted I be lying down during the piercing, even though I though sitting would be better. I looked though and saw a line on my hood and said that isn't what I want pierced!! I was told that was actually a mark to mark the center of my hood so that the piercing would be as even as possible and as straight as possible.

When it came time to clamp, I was in utter fear. The clamps were so painful and my piercer was having trouble getting a secure grip with the fact that my labia were folding over and he had to push them out of the way. When, after 5 minutes, they were in the right place and secured by a rubber band, the piercing was about to really begin. The clamps were really painful and I asked how much more pain would the needle be? Since they were men, they couldn't really tell me. When I asked at that point how many triangles Fish had done, he said, "It's not a very common piercing." He has done them, so I felt safe. I was very nervous and was beginning to doubt myself, and said maybe we shouldn't do this after all. In the end, I told them to not tell me or ask when I'm ready because that will tense me up. I said I trusted the placement marked and John told Fish to watch my breathing and then he pierced me. Honestly, it was a 2 second pressure/pain and that was all. I was so in awe that it was over already. Both John and Charles said I barely squeezed their hands and I gave out a slight Ow Ow Ow yell.

Getting off the clamps was painful because my legs tensed up, making them more together than apart. When they were off, the blood was being cleaned off and the ball to the circular barbell was being put on. It took 2 minutes or 1 minute for the ball to go on because of the blood/Technicare mix, but it did go on and I was done.

I felt no pain getting up or walking around and put on the pad I brought with me. They were impressed I was so prepared for this piercing, skirt and all. With a $15 tip and a big smile and assurance that I did very well, I was out the door and oh so proud.

It's bleeding now, but that is expected and I have no regrets at all.

Day 3 update

The first day having it [Thursday] bled incredibly. It would soak through my bed sheets and my maxi pads. Not being a bleeder, I contacted some people on Live Journal, my piercer, and Elayne Angel to ask for advice. That night I put an ice pack wrapped in one layer of paper towel outside my crotch and slept with it there that night. When I woke up, there was no more bleeding and no more weird congealed blood globs on my pad.

Today [Saturday] when I was laughing, I felt a little squirt of blood and it does bleed slightly on and off, but it is also bruised where the jewelry enters and exits, so that might be why it is slightly bleeding. In any case, there is no pain, and I've felt no pain since the needle went through during the piercing.
