Artist Rob
Studio Totally Pierced
Location Sydney, Australia
Three months ago, I decided to finally get all the piercings that I was able to, about 4 in total. I had quit the job that wasn't allowing my exploring in body mod and started to discus my options with a friend who was a piercer. He introduced me to a 'triangle' and I was amazed that I hadn't heard about this before. Hearing about all the pros and cons, what the actual piercing involved and more of the pros again, I decided this was what I wanted.

I gave myself time to let the excitement of the idea die down in my head before I did anything rash. One month ago, I finally came up with the funds for my piercing and I started my research.

I rang around the reputable studios in Sydney that I knew had a good name from people that had piercings done there. My search came up empty. After persisting I got to the bottom of my list of studios and found one person that actually does this piercing in the whole of Sydney. That is of course who I would trust with my genitals...no way was I getting a dodgy backyard job and end up with some weird infection.

I Spoke to Rob on the phone first and he explained that it was an uncommon piercing compared to the rest of the female gen piercings. He said that to support this piercing I would need to have the correct anatomy. I understood what he meant, as I had done some reading online that explained why this was important.

He asked me to come down so he could have a look and give me a more accurate answer. He also stated that he had only ever gone through with two triangle piercings due to having (or not having) the correct anatomy previously. This did make me a little nervous.

So I finally built up the courage to go down there with my best friend (who is male) and grabbed my cash on the way out. I was so nervous going in; I'm talking red flushes, sweats, nerves out of control. Every minute I was there, since I walked through the front door felt like ten times longer.

I waited for Rob to finish with his current client and he finally emerged with a happy customer following behind (That was a good thing to see going in).

I introduced myself and explained the previous phone call to him the week before and jolted his memory. He seemed a lovely person and very professional. We spoke for a while and discussed what I was wanting and what was involved.

He led me into his piercing room, I took off my underwear and laid down, this alone was something I wasn't looking forward to as i'm shy.

He felt around while I looked at the poster on the ceiling trying to calm myself down. He asked if I felt his hands in a few spots and told me that it would be fine to have this done and if I wanted to get it done right then. I agreed and he stepped outside while I put my pants back on.

I filled in the necessary paper work and we discussed what jewellery I was wanting and what was most appropriate. I went with one of his recommendations, a CBR. I wasn't after something too large or heavy, so this sounded perfect.

Now the adrenaline was really pumping. I asked if my friend was able to come in for support. He realised how nervous I was, gave me a friendly smirk and said that it was fine, assuring me that everything will be fine.

I followed him back into his room and he talk to me, trying to calm me down a bit. He was a fantastic person; very understanding and I think it was a bit novel for him to have someone so nervous in there. He was use to people having piercings done. I was a fresh palette for him.

We talked about his work and experiences, how I found out about this piercing etc while he prepared the area and marked it. He handed me a mirror, to agree that I was happy with the position and I said it was fine.

He instructed me to breathe deeply and try to stay calm and not move. My friend held my hand and distracted me while the needle went through. The pain was almost like a pinching and it REALLY hurt a lot. It was less pain then I was expecting, but then I had no idea what I was in for either.

Rob asked how I was feeling and I replied that I was okay. My friend looked down and grinned...."It's nearly done" and i was excited and shocked, full of adrenaline. He inserted the CBR, talking me through what he was doing. Passed me the mirror and I was thrilled, it looked great! He helped me sit up and let me have a few minutes while I gathered myself.

I got to my feet, clothed and emerged from the room like a ripe tomato. I was a little dizzy but fine. I paid him and he discussed the after care. He gave me a sheet and his card with all the information. He advised that if I had any problems or questions to give him a call.

I thanked him and let him know how much I appreciated his time and understanding and left.

My friend helped me home as I was a little bit dizzy to drive. A little while later the throbbing started, so I soaked myself in a salt bath for a while. At first it stung a little, but then felt much better.

That was a little over a week ago. I followed Rob's instructions and it's healing nicely. I can't wait for it to be completely healed so I can start to experience the pros of my piercing. I do feel a little different when I sit and walk, but I don't want to do anything until I'm comfortably healed.

My advise would be to do your research, so that you know exactly what you are in for. I did this and felt a lot more comfortable and relaxed in my mind. I Didn't rush into it either and I made sure it was definately what i was after. Yes it is painful, but if it's what you're really after then i would do it. I'm so glad that i took my friend along for support and to help me back home, as i felt a little woozy afterwards. All in all...I love it!
