When Two years ago
I work in the secretarial profession, so, clearly, I have to be well presented and smart. I already have several piercing (mostly ears, although I have both nostrils pierced and also my tongue) that are tolerated at work but to get any more would be pushing the boundaries a little, so I began thinking about other areas of my body....

Seeing as my nipples are already pierced twice in both, I decided to venture south, barring the vertical hood that I have had at this point for about 2 years, what could I have done? After thorough research online and in various magazines, I decided that a triangle piercing would be the fella for me. I thought it would compliment my hood piercing (both aesthetically and sensitivity wise) and, if I was lucky, may make boring days at work a little more exciting if you know what I mean! The next step was to have it done!

So, on my lunch break from work, I toddled off to see Mark, who had performed all of my previous piercings bar a couple over the years. He has a level of professionalism I only hope other piercers aspire to! He's very pleasant, a genuinely nice guy, has such dedication to his work and takes time to get to know his customers.

I mentioned that I was after another genital piercing to which he replied that he was glad to have an 'interesting' piercing to perform, as the week had been full of young girls wanting eyebrows and navels done!

We sat down and he discussed what the procedure would involve. He also asked me if I'd like his assistant in there when he was piercing me, like I did when I had my hood done, in case I needed to hold a hand! I said no, because, as a rule, I have a quite high pain threshold and I wanted to brave it out by myself. He laughed and we arranged a time for the following day.

That night, I shaved myself thoroughly (I know it's not necessary, but I like to when getting pierced) and went to sleep feeling excited with no nerves whatsoever.

The next day at work, the nerves were beginning to kick in, by 12.00, my mind wasn't on work, so I nipped out early to have a wander round before my appointment, which was at 12.45.

I walked into the shop at 12.25, greeted by Mark who was about to do yet another navel. He guided the young girl into the piercing room and told me that he'd be with me in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, the girl walked out, a big smile on her face, looking slightly shaky, her friends telling her how they 'couldn't believe she'd had it done!' I smiled knowingly at Mark, he just smiled back and offered me a sup of tea before we began.

Whilst the jewellery was being autoclaved, he ran through the procedure again, telling me how this would probably be the most painful piercing I've had to date. To be honest, it didn't put me off at all, it just made me more eager for it to be done!

When the time came, I took a deep breath and went into the room, a very clean, large room, with beds and a chair in it. Mark asked me what music I wanted playing, I'd bought some Paradise Lost with me, so he put that on and told me to remove my skirt and knickers and to pop onto the chair.

He then spent a few minutes getting the positioning of the piercing correct, then to do the old 'deep breath in, then big breath out' routine. By now my mind was in another place, I was aching to get it done, so, without thinking about it, I did as instructed, then the pain came, I can't believe how much this bugger hurt, it was indescribable! It was, as promised, the most intense pain I'd ever experienced (although I've had many piercings and 10+ hours work on a tattoo on my back). It was a totally different kind of pain, a sharp, stabbing sensation. I stayed as still as I could, letting out a few choice expletives and then there was no pain, it had stopped to my relief!

'There we go!' were the next word I heard from Mark. He handed me a mirror and I admired my new triangle piercing, it did compliment my hood piercing, as predicted, I moved it a little, and it didn't hurt, just tingled pleasantly!

After I'd got dressed and paid Mark, he told me that he'd only ever seen one girl that was as 'calm' as me during that piercing, which gave me a slightly inflated head as I walked out of the room with the obligatory endorphin-induced grin on my face. I told him that I'd see him soon probably as I often popped into the shop to deliberate over piercings with him.

The piercing had healed within a week, during this time, there was no soreness and no, I wasn't walking like I'd been riding a horse for a week. I've also gained slight improvement in sensitivity in the area, which is a bonus, even after having it for 2 years.

So, if you're prepared to experience intense pain for about 10 seconds and be hopefully be rewarded with heightened sensitivity, this could be the piercing for you!
