When Five years ago
Studio Bristol
This is about my first set of labia rings which was paid for by my boyfriend as a Valentines present. I had my 2 outer labia rings put in 5 years ago now, and am now just about to have 4 more done. My first experience was unforgettable and worth sharing so that anyone else considering it can make their own judgements. We travelled down from my boyfriends house in Gloucester and arrived at the studio in Bristol just after opening time, my boyfriend having booked the appointment for me. We sat and talked with the piercer about what I wanted done. I then signed the relevant forms, feeling very nervous, even thought I already had several piercings. We then went through to the piercing room and I removed my lower clothes and got ready on the bed.

I am very 'neat' down there, with virtually no inner labia to speak of, so outer labia were the only option. I had already shaved so she had a clear view, and as we weren't sure where we wanted them, the piercer positioned the BCR rings in place so we could choose where they would be, and move them around a bit without the balls in before making a final decision. Then she went for it. I've had several piercings done (tongue, nipple, clit hood, and tragus) before but this one was the first where I saw white pain! It was done with no clamp and no numbing spray......and I think I broke my boyfriends hand when she put the needle thru! It seemed to take quite a while for the needle to actually go through my skin, and I admit I yelled out quite a bit and called her all the names under the sun.

As I was so determined to go thru with getting two, I prepared myself again and she did the second one. For some reason I didn't realise she hadn't clamped me, it hadn't even occurred to me that she wouldn't, and didn't until after the second one was complete. I have no idea why not... maybe the adrenalin rush just stopped me from thinking logically.....but after another white pain sighting I was done, and my boyfriend could try and regain the feeling in his hand. The things we do for love! I think the guy having his first tattoo next door thought he was getting away lightly after hearing my reaction. I felt a bit silly when I saw them outside afterwards, but if they'd realised how painful it was then I think they may have been a bit more sympathetic.

There was a little bleeding but I was prepared with a sanitary liner, and while my boyfriend paid I sorted myself out, finding it much more comfortable to keep the rings stable and as unmoving as possible, putting paid to my blokes fantasies of me wearing no underwear whilst they healed, and then we made the journey home...... with me walking a little John Wayne styly! I didn't find it too uncomfortable, and managed to go out that night, a good excuse being a bad back – which enables you to allow for the very careful sitting down which takes place in the first few days after the initial piercing. But I was able to do most stuff quite easily. We also have a Harley but it was a while before I felt comfortable enough to go pillion.

The labia took about 4 months to heal totally before I could change the jewellery, and gave me very little issues. I became a dab hand at sitting on the toilet back to front to clean them with salt water! The left hand side is always a little more prone to sensitivity when I stretched it up and from 1.6mm I now wear 3.2mm totally round segment rings and they look fabulous! With regards to sex we just had to be extremely careful and developed new positions to avoid as my contact as possible. Although it did put me out of action for a bit, it was well worth making sure they healed properly as we have a lot of fun with them now.

It hasn't put me off, and I am booked in for 4 more to be done at the same time, this time out in Spain where I now live, but this time I know my piercer very well and have discussed my previous experience with her, and she is happy to make sure I am clamped.....and we are also going to try some numbing cream to see if that helps at all! She did warn me that the clamps may hurt, but to be honest I don't think it will be as bad as having no clamps – and having pre-tested with clamp pressure as near as I can using clothes pegs I reckon that's going to be far easier.
