I've loved piercings ever since I was little. I started out with my ears. I already had a pair of earlobe rings since like I was 2 weeks old. Then at age 12 I got my second pair, then my third pair at 14, my 4th pair at 16 and 5th pair at 17 years old. I have one of the pairs at 6g and the others are either 14g or 12g. Now, I've been wanting more piercings but my mom doesn't let me get anymore. She says that 10 ear piercings are enough. So, since I'm 18 I was thinking about going to a Tattoo/Piercing shop to get a piercing without my mom's permission since I don't need her signing anything. I thought about it again and I say "Nah, I'm not getting any piercing so my parents won't punish me or something like that"... Now I thought about getting a non-visible piercing. A piercing that only my eyes can see and to those few people I will show it to (like my boyfriend and best friend). I didn't want my nipples thinking that it would hurt, so I chose my outer labia. I found it sexy, curious, and it looks not painful. I was determined to get that piercing.

Now, it's a piercing which I didn't want a lot of people to know about and a piercing that I didn't want a professional artist to do it. So I decided to go to Itiba Tattoo Shop, that's like 4 minutes away from my house, to see if I could buy a needle. I know all the guys that work there. I had done an interview there for a college project and they are also friends of mines. Of course I didn't say that I wanted the needle to get my labia pierced, I just said that I wanted to do a piercing by myself. They thought that I wanted to get my nipples pierced. I let them think whatever they wanted to think. So they told me how to get my nipple pierced and I was like ok , thanks. I had the 16g needle, a blue spongy thingy that looks like a bottle cork, antibiotic cream, alcohol, the 16g "horseshoe" ring, and a sharpie magic marker (you're supposed to be a surgical marker). I forgot to buy gloves.

The day I prepared myself mentally to do my piercing I was so excited, but I started to think: "What if I faint again when I get the needle through?". Yeah, I fainted once when I was self piercing my nose. Experience which I will never repeat. Anyways, I then decided to let my boyfriend have the honor to pierce me. He was more excited than me because he was actually going to do a piercing and a piercing which he will love. So I prepared everything. I took a bath, washed good, then sat on the bed of his room, spread my legs hehe. I told him what to do and how to do it. He passed a cottonball with alcohol on the part of my outer labia where he was going to pierce me, then he marked the spot with the magic marker on both sides. He opened the little bag where the sterilized needle was and lubricated it with the antibiotic cream (Neosporin). I didn't have any tweezers or any clamp to pinch my skin so he used his fingers to pinch and when I counted to three he pushed it in. I was scared and kind of nervous with the alcohol bottle in my hand in case I was about to faint. I was scared and I yelled F***!!! and I was telling him to push the needle through faster because I hadn't felt the pain. When he told me that it went through already I didn't believe it. I had to see me in the mirror. It was through! He put the spongy cork thing at the end so he wouldn't poke himself with it. So he put the ring at the other end of the needle and started pushing it through also until it got in and he put the other ball on the ring. I was so happy. I could walk good. I didn't feel any pain and it wasn't swollen.

I went back home and went to sleep. I woke up like at 2am with nausea and a fast heartbeat. I started getting scared and went to the bathroom to vomit. I was scared and I thought that all of this was because of the piercing so I didn't know what to do, to either take the piercing out or leave it. I took it off. I actually took it off after I wanted it so bad. I went back to sleep. When I woke up in the morning I started asking myself "Was it a dream?". It wasn't a dream. I checked myself and no ring. I regreted so much, that I decided to do it again. I went to my boyfriend's house again with the same needle and same stuff. He sterilized the needle with alcohol and lubricated it again with Neosporin. He tried to reopen the hole. It hurt! I put a towel in my mouth not to yell. There was pain this time and it got swollen. It hurt so bad. I couldn't walk right. I was walking like a cowboy.. well .. worse. He got the ring through and I felt it throbbing. I went to back to the tattoo shop to buy an aftercare spray and when I got back to my house I sprayed the piercing with it. I used a q-tip to let the solution go inside the hole. It kind of stinged but then I was ok.

All this happened yesterday and today. It seems to be doing ok. I hope that it doesn't get infected or anything. I'm spraying it every 3 hours or less. I still walk a little funny but I'm trying to walk right in front of my mother so she won't notice. I am very happy about it. To all those girls that have curiousity of getting one, I recommend it. It's not painful at the first time, my second time doing it was painful though. It's a nice piercing and more if you want to please your boyfriend/girlfriend. My boyfriend loves it. If you feel good showing your parts to a professional artist then you should go to a tattoo/piercing shop. If you want to do it like I did, then research information about how to do it and its aftercare. For piercings you should go to a profession though.
