Over a year ago I got a pair of 12g outer labia piercings. Six months ago I retired them. This is their story...
I have always liked the look of multiple outer labia cbrs. I love to see photo sets where ribbon is laced between the rings in a corset. Outer labia piercings have always been extremely aesthetically pleasing to me. I had hoped to one day aquire either 3 or 4 sets of my own and be able to have my own outer labia corset but this dream is long gone.
Procedure
One chilly day two winters ago I decided to get my first, and what would later become my last, set of outer labia piercings. I went to a shop that I knew had a female piercer and told her what I wanted. She brought me back into the piercing room, pulled out a bunch of sterile bags, cleaned me up, and went to business.
The piercing was easy. My piercer clamped my right outer labia, pierced it on my exhale, and did the jewelry change. She then changed the jewelry in my fourchette to give me a tiny break between piercings. After that was finished it was back to business. Lather, rinse, repeat. She clamped my left labia, pierced it on the exhale, and changed the jewelry. The piercing was incredibly easy. I'd compare the pain to that of a biting sensation. It hurt for a moment and then it was over. Once I stood up and redressed I could barely tell that I'd been pierced.
I tipped my piercer well and strutted out of the shop on a high. I believe I went straight from the shop to work a 10 hour night at a restaurant and had no problems with piercings as long as I was standing up. If you've ever had a genital piercing you know that sitting can be quite tricky at first as you generally forget that you have a fresh piercing and plop down in a chair only feel immense pain.
Aftercare
Aftercare was simple. I rinsed my piercings with sterile saline solution whenever I felt the need, which was probably a couple of times a day. I "kept off of them" for a couple of weeks by abstaining from sex for a little bit. I washed them in the shower with liquid dial to avoid infection.
I also wore boxer briefs for a few months to keep pressure off of the piercings because regular underwear and thongs were painful to wear. I can't stress enough how awesome mens boxer briefs can be for certain genital piercings.
Healing?
Healing was basically non-existent. My piercings got to the point where a fistula was formed but they never stopped hurting. When I had sex, I would use positions that put no pressure on the piercings so that it was bearable.
After a few months my right outer labia started to swell a bit and was constantly irritated. I decided that the jewelry was causing this disturbance so I switched from a captive bead ring to a barbell and that alleviated the problem as it gave room to accommodate the swelling.
At this point my genitals really started to bother me. I had a 12g captive bead ring on the left and a 10g straight barbell on the right (it was the only 10g barbell that I had lying around). I decided to purchase a pair of 10g circular barbells and use my ring openers to widen them a bit so they had more room to accommodate my swollen right labia. This plan worked for a while but eventually it got too irritated.
I am a stubborn girl so I let my right labia get to the point that it hurt me to walk. I would recommend to anyone that you just give it up before it gets to that point. I finally retired my right labia piercing and had planned to just repierce it in a month or two.
Immediately I felt relief but I noticed a huge amount of scar tissue. My right labia was twice the size of the left because of scar tissue. I started to massage my labia with jojoba oil on a regular basis to try to break down the scar tissue and keep it healthy and today you wouldn't be able to tell that I had any type of issues with scarring.
I walked around with a single outer labia piercing for about 3 months with the plan to get the other repierced until I finally decided that mY laziness combined with my fear of having the piercing fail again was enough for me to give up on my dream of an outer labia corset all together. I said goodbye to my left outer labia and retired it.
I doubt I'll get my outer labia repierced. My body has trouble healing anything other than oral piercings or genital piercings that are in the pink, so to say.
