Oh, the fun that I've had with my Christina piercings. My first encounter with them came while I was browsing BME; I wanted to get something pierced, but I had some limitations. No facial piercings because of work, nipples seemed too scary, and I didn't know what the hell a microdermal was. Just for shits and giggles, I checked out the female genital piercings, and when I saw the Christina, I knew she was the one for me.

I spent two weeks deciding if I really wanted to get this piercing. I talked it over with my fiancee and he said I should do it if I liked it so much. I desperately wanted to have pretty little gems popping out of my genitals, but every time I thought of how it must feel like, I almost shit myself.

One weekday afternoon, I felt like I was ready. I had my cash on me, and I told my fiancee that today was to be the day. He took me over to Anomaly Studios. He'd been going there for a long time, and I trusted his judgment on piercing shops. The studio was empty, except for Squ3ez. I told him I wanted a christina, and I asked him all the regular questions; Jewelry? Healing time? Pain factor? Squ3ez answered all my questions, and I spent the next ten minutes making my final decision.

I said I wanted to do it, and I filled out the necessary forms and whatnot. The fifteen minutes I waited for the jewelry to be autoclaved seemed like the longest fifteen minutes of my life. I went into the room, sat on the piercing chair, and waited for instructions. Squ3ez told me to pull my pants down to my knees and lay back. I could feel him marking me, re-marking me, and making sure everything was ok. He had me start my breathing, and in my nervousness, I took fast, shallow breaths instead of long deep ones. On the third breath, he pierced me.

"That was it?"

"Yup. I just need to put the jewelry in"

It felt like a pinch, and that was it. I felt stupid for having psyched myself out so much. He put the tygon in, and screwed on the balls. Tygon was going to lessen the chance of rejection, and it would be more comfortable to wear. I walked out of that studio proud and happy.

After I got home from work that night, I wanted to check out Miss Christina in better detail. I took a hand mirror and checked myself out down there. The first thing I noticed was that it was off center. Not by much, but enough for me to notice. I told my fiancee, and he said he'd check it out himself. We both determined it wasn't totally straight, but maybe it would fix itself while it healed.

Squ3ez had left quite a bit of extra tygon, so the piercing would heal better. After about a few weeks though, I noticed the top ball would be sinking into the hole, and despite all my efforts for it not to, it kept doing that. I went back to Anomaly to get my tygon changed, and I told Squ3ez about both the off-center problem and the pocketing. He told me that he should have had me stand up after he marked me, because my anatomy shifts when I stand. As for the pocketing, he said he'd leave a bit more room on this tygon change and see if it would help.

Long story short, I wound up taking it out. It was pissing me off in more ways than one, and it wasn't being the sexy little gem piercing I wanted it to be.

A month later, I wanted to try again. I was so in love with this piercing, I just had to have it work. I went back to Anomaly, and Stephen was there this time. I had brought the steel gems from my last piercing so he could re-use those. The procedure was the same, but he had me stand so that he could check the positioning of the piercing. Three deep breaths later, and I had my second Christina. It was straight and pretty and extra long, so the pocketing wouldn't happen.

Unfortunately, something worse happened. One night, I was with my best friend, and I went to use to the restroom when we were out. I noticed that the top ball of my Christina was completely under my skin, just like a bead. I tried to pop it out, but all I did was make it bleed alot. Desperately, I called Anomaly, and told Stephen. He asked me to come in so he could take care of it.

My friend and I dashed over there as soon as we could. Stephen ushered me into the piercing room, and got to work on getting the bead out. Finally, after a lot of coaxing with a needle, he got it out. Stephen told me to tape it down for a week or so, and then to come back for a checkup.

I diligently taped it down for a week, changing the gauze and the tape two times a day. It seemed alot better, but I still went in and had him look at it. He gave me the ok, and I left there with a happy Christina. Two weeks later, I came to the point where the tygon was much too long to be comfortable. It was pissing me off in the worst way. I went back to have him trim it down, so it wouldn't be in the way. It felt much, much better.

After 24 hours, the pocketing began again, and severe this time. I knew it was coming; but just for safety's sake, I called Stephen and asked him what to do. He said the best idea was just to take it out. Tearfully, I removed the balls, and threw away the tygon. I just lost my second Christina. Perhaps third time is the charm.
