I had wanted a genital piercing for a long time, quite a long time. I had done LOTS of research and I had decided on a Christina piercing.

I thought it looked great on the women in the pictures I had seen, and I thought that it would be the best choice for me.

I decided the time was right, so after getting the money and all the answers and information I wanted and needed. I decided the time was right and after having the dates changed because of things out of my control, I was finally getting it pierced, and I was really nervous and excited.

So me and my friend Katie made our way into Christchurch.

Fast-forward to when I reach Absolution (the best piercing studio, I wont be pierced at any other studio, they did my nipple piercings)

I was extremely nervous and me and Katie sat down outside while I calmed down.

We went inside and I saw that Timm the piercer, was talking to man at the counter so I waited until they finished talking and then walked up to the counter where Timm asked me whether he could help with anything.

I told I wanted a Christina Piercing and he asked me whether I wanted it done there, and I said 'Yip', ready as I could ever be so he filled in the top of a form (saying his name and what piercing I was getting), then he passed it to me for me to finish filling out the rest, like my name, contact number, whether im on medication, whether Im pregnant, etc.

After that was filled in, he checked it, and then asked for my i.d, which I pulled out, and he checked it and then told me to follow him round to another area where he closed the curtain. (He asked me whether Katie wanted to come in aswell but I dont think me or Katie would feel comfortable with that.)

So I took of my underwear and climbed onto the bench where I laid down and hitched up my denim skirt. I had shaved that morning (I didnt mind, and I thought it would be better for him and me to see my piercing.)

He put on gloves and started to set up, pulling out all NEW equipment. I closed my eyes and he explained what he was doing. e.g marking, cleaning, etc.

And he asked me whether I had been thinking about it getting it for long, etc which made me feel comfortable. I told him that I had been emailing him asking plenty of questions, and he remembered.

He asked me whether I wanted to check the markings and I said 'No, it's alright', because I trusted him.

Before I knew it he was telling me to breathe in and breathe out, and when I breathed out he put the needle in. Im not going to lie, it hurt, it really hurt, way more than I expected it to.

The pain stopped for a second, then I was like 'Ow Fuck' as it started again, (As he pushed the needle through further, I think.)

Then the actual piercing bit was over before I knew it, I asked whether there was much more pain, and he explained that there was the insertion of the bar left, and that there would be a 'crunch', and there was a 'crunch' and I would say that thats the bit that hurt the most. (He didnt use clamps, which I thought was best, not that Im an expert)

He put the balls on the end, and all was done, I opened my eyes and got off the bench and put my underwear back on, while I was doing that he wiped down everything (including all the surfaces he had the equipment on), and the bench, etc.

He then explained the cleaning process, and gave me cleaning instructions and seasalt in a small bag, and I paid and left.

Walking out and then to the bus was suprisingly comfortable, I could hardly feel it. Riding on the bus back wasnt uncomfortable (like my nipple piercings) and now two days later, theres not much pain at all, just a little bit when I bend down.

There wasnt any blood, and there hasnt been any so far.

It is by far my favourite piercing (over my nipples, and 'normal' ear piercings.

If you live in Christchurch, New Zealand (or around that area), Absolution is THE BEST place to go if you're looking for professional, and clean piercings.

Im extremely glad at my choice of piercing, and who I went to for it. I hope I havent put anyone off getting it by explaining the pain. But isnt it better to know what to expect than not knowing at all?
