I love the Christina piercing. Love it to death - it's the most beautiful, sexy, personal piercing I have ever seen, and the moment I saw it, I was in love. I decided I wanted one after seeing pictures on the BME site, and started researching. A few weeks later, I went with my friend to go get it.

The first problem was finding somebody who would actually do the piercing. I had dropped in to a shop close to my school and asked them if they would pierce me; they said yes, the piercer would be in tomorrow. When I came to get pierced though, the piercer said the Christina was a tough piercing and he didn't think he was experienced enough to do it, and well, I trust him on that. The second shop I went to refused to do anything below the belt, the third one didn't do Christinas. The fourth shop agreed to pierce me, but since the guy didn't have an enclosed space available then, he offered to pierce me in the open space behind the counter. Umm..... no. I gave up for the day and went home.

I found Planet Ink after researching online and calling the place to make sure they knew how to do a Christina, and went with my friend a few days later. The shop looked good, and completely trustworthy. The piercer (whose name I don't know) was very professional and that made me feel less weird/freaked out. Anyhow, he helped me pick out jewelry, a 14g curved bb with jeweled balls, then cleaned the area and marked the two spots with a pen. I checked the spots in a mirror, and they looked good; my friend agreed - she was probably more comfortable with the whole thing than I was. The piercer clamped the area, which pinched a bit, and I lay down on the table and after taking three deep breaths - I was pierced!!!

It hurt, but not nearly as much as I had thought, I had been prepared for about twice the actual pain. And it only hurt for a moment, then I couldn't even feel it - later on as we were walking around, I couldn't even notice it and my friend was in more discomfort from gettin her nails done than I was from my piercing! I have to say, my piercing experience there was amazing, and I left totally pumped and in love with my new piercing. It was beautiful, beautiful! The most gorgeous thing I'd ever had, and I loved it to death. I kept peeking down my pants at it, which led to more than a few weird looks in public.

For aftercare, I washed the piercing twice a day with a sea salt spray, and wore only loose sweatpants and skirts. I tried to keep as little pressure on the area as possible, but whacked it twice accidentally while cleaning it, which most likely helped speed up the rejection.

After two weeks, I noticed more barbell was showing than before, and started getting worried about possible rejection. A month after the piercing was done, only about half the barbell was still covered, so I went back to Planet Ink to get it checked up on. The piercer took a look and said it was find, and he changed the barbell for me to a shorter one that was completely covered by the remaining skin, and had a smaller lower ball. By the end of the week, that barbell was also only half covered by skin, and I knew for sure that it wasn't going to stay.

I got it taken out yesterday, after debating with myself whether I should take it out and let it heal over or just let it completely reject by itself and have a few more days of loving my beautiful Christina. I couldn't go back to Planet Ink to get it removed, because it's too far from where I live to go without my parents noticing (my parents are strict about piercings - only one hole per ear and anything else I may get kicked out for), so I went to a shop by my school, where they took the piercing out (sob) and pierced my belly too. The belly piercing was as consolation so I wouldn't be completely heartbroken over losing my beloved christina.

My christina piercing was pretty expensive, a hassle to take care of, and very shortlived, but I still definitely think it was worth it. I love the christina piercing, and I will get it pierced as many times as I have to until it stays! Despite the annoyance of babying it and the high rejection rate, I still think Christina is the most amazing piercing out there, and if anyone wants to get one, go for it!
