This past Valentine's Day my husband surprised me with a very special gift. I have been a student teacher since January, and while I love what I am doing, I couldn't help but count the days to Spring break. My brain needs a rest from 25 second graders. So on Valentine's Day my hubby gave me two airline tickets and said we are off to Hawaii for Spring break. This was the best present ever, but I had nothing to give him. I always do something special for Valentine's Day, but this year I just came home from teaching and wanted to collapse. Of all the years, this is the year he did something super special beyond candy and flowers.

Later in bed I began to think how I could make it up to him, and I had an idea. Every time we watch a porno video together and one of the girls has a genital piercing, he makes it a point to ask if I have ever given that a thought. I always say "No!", and he knows better than to push it. So I turned to him and said "I think I want to get my pussy pierced". I definitely hit the nail on the head with that one. The rest of the evening we talked about it - the what's, the where's, the when's.

Together we discovered the BME website and read practically all there is to read about the various piercings. After reading all the experiences the only piercings I felt strongly about not getting were a clit piercing and a triangle. All the others I was fairly open minded about.

I don't seem to have much luck with piercing studios. Both studios where I had my navel and rook done have gone out of business. I took to the phone book and called around places near by. Finally, I spoke to a really cool young woman named Morgan at The Hot Spot. I asked her about her experience with female genital piercings. She assured me she had plenty of experience, that her place was clean, and that she had a photo portfolio I could browse. The portfolio was important, because I still wasn't sure which piercing I wanted. I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday evening (Saturday was booked).

My husband joined me for the adventure, and we were both extremely pleased with the cleanliness of the studio. We browsed the portfolio as I explained to Morgan that it's not that I didn't know what piercings I wanted, it's that I didn't know what piercings would work for me. Although I really wanted a vertical hood and possibly two inner labia, I knew up front that I have virtually no hood or inner labia. Morgan had me raise my skirt and hop up onto the table. She didn't have stirrups (which would have been nice).

Morgan confirmed that hood and/or inner labia piercings weren't an option with my anatomy. She did say I am a perfect candidate for a Christina, outer labia, and a fourchette. I fell in love with the Christina and my husband was pulling for the outer labia. Morgan explained that both of these piercings take a bit longer to heal. One of the reasons I really wanted a hood or inner labia piercing was due to the very short healing times. If I were pierced in mid-February I would be good to go by the end of March for our vacation. Morgan suggested we think about a fourchette. First, she said, I was built nicely for a fourchette because my perineum (the space between my pussy and anus) was large. Secondly, she said a fourchette heals very quickly, and third, a fourchette can provide added stimulation for my husband. The downside of a fourchette is that I can't really see it nor can my husband unless he is down there "on business".

We decided that the fourchette would be a great first genital piercing, and after our vacation I would be back to have my outer labia pierced. I just assumed that a ring would be used for a fourchette, but Morgan insisted that we use a curved barbell. She said not to be alarmed by the size of the needle. She would be using a 10-gauge barbell, but the pain involved in a fourchette is minimal (not so with outer labia apparently).

By now I had signed the paperwork, the jewelry was in the cooker, and Morgan began to prep me with betadyne. I told her that I really didn't want this to ever tear out, so we agreed that she would pierce deep. I expected the clamps to hurt much more than they did. I was on my back holding my legs up near my chest and getting very tired in that position. That is DEFINITELY not a position for the bashful or shy. Morgan slipped the VERY LARGE needle from inside my vagina through my perineum into a cork. The pain was very tolerable compared to either my rook or navel. She inserted a 5/8" long x 10-gauge curved barbell with no problem. She cleaned me up and asked if she could take a photo. Afterwards she kindly gave me a panty liner. DON'T FORGET THE PANTY LINER!

Morgan gave me the aftercare instructions and warned me that soaking this piercing will be challenging, and she strongly suggested that we stretch this to an 8-gauge when I come in for more piercings. At home I have been using clean cloth in warm sea salt water to soak the wound, and then I flush inside and out with a syringe filled with salt water. Morgan suggested we hold off on sex for several weeks, but our patience only lasted a week. Last night we took my new fourchette on a test drive, and I we couldn't be happier. In closing, I would just say that this piercing may not be super popular, but it is a great first piercing if your options are limited.
