I knew the first time I saw the Christina, that this was a piercing for me. I currently hold a job in which I am not allowed to have within public view extra piercings, and am also from a simple yet large midwest town that seems to frown on anything different. I have fancied body modification for quite some time, but have never opted to utilize my body to the fullest. Of course I have had the simple ear piercings, navel etc. but definitely wanted to go the extra step for this piercing.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon IAM Bren When It just happened Artist Skot Studio St. Sabrina's Parlor in Purgatory Location Minneapolis, MN I spoke with my friend about this piercing, she and I have had piercing together. It all started with a simple navel piercing for myself, and nipple piercings for my friend. I told her I had seen on a web site a Christina piercing. She told me I should get one. After having my belly pierced, I questioned if it could be done at their studio. They questioned me as to what this piercing was, and after explaining what it was they stated I would need to be measured and come back in a week or two after the jewelry was ordered. I figured I could chew on this for a while, concerned that they had no clue what I had been talking about. Well a while happened to be 6 months. I finally got the nerve to go over to the piercing and tattoo studio, and to my surprise, they stated they do not perform Christina's only vertical hoods. Frustrated and confused I began calling around, and like I said, before, midwest town, every parlor and studio I spoke with did not do this type of piercing. My search ended when finally a studio informed me of a Parlor in Minneapolis, MN. I thought cool, only 3 hours away. I could do that. With much communication via email to this parlor I was placed in contact with Derek, he informed me of all information that I could possibly need and ensured me, this could be completed with one visit, no measuring, etc., and that I definitely made the right decision to go to an experienced parlor. It was set within a week I had made an appointment for Saturday at 4:00 in Minneapolis.
Now I am married, he doesn't approve of my decision, and that he is bothered by my other piercings, and that he probably won't want to be sexual anymore, and my response, well, I tend to rebel, I stated promptly "Promise?" Needless to say I still went ahead with plans.
I arrived at the parlor on time, and was directed upstairs to where I filled out all the proper paper work. Interesting enough there were many people waiting around for piercings, tattoos, and what not. Best part was, I was placed at the front of the line for having an appointment. I was questioned male or female piercer, I stated whomever, next in line was Skot. He was very nice and welcoming. I must say the environment was very sterile and clean, yet welcoming. I pick up on the sterility of things since I work in a hospital. Also, utilizing synthetic gloves etc. He walked me through the procedure, discussed exactly what he was going to do, how long it would hurt, care and cleaning with sea salt, and we worked on our breathing.
Apparently, I had good anatomy for this specific piercing. I was marked, clamped, breathed, and pierced. My eyes turned into plates for possibly a split second, but once the jewelry that I had selected was in place, I had no discomfort what-so-ever. I must say, he was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and yet comforting. He agreed with me, that if the parlors/studios from my home town did not know what this piercing was, it was definitely a good idea to go elsewhere.
So far no regrets, haven't told my husband yet, interested to see that response. Who knows, maybe I'll be single soon! I called my friend and informed her, and she was semi shocked-and more upset she couldn't be with me when I got it. She is now thinking about one for herself.
Today is the fourth day. I am a little sore, more of a tight pinching like feeling every now and then, almost if you get all caught up in your underwear! (Ladies will understand!) I haven't had any problems shaving, no problems sitting-just have to make sure my pants are not caught or constricting. Considering, we went to the Mall of America right after my piercing, I am pleasantly surprised that it doesn't hurt more. Much more comfortable standing or laying down than sitting. Some discomfort wiping, but overall-doing great! I would definitely say to those who are considering, if I would definitely do it again. Yes, for that split second of piercing, it does hurt, but, it subsides as soon as the jewelry goes in. Understanding that you have a good piercer like myself that knows what they are doing. Definitely, two thumbs up to Skot, Derek, and staff in Minneapolis, MN. I would highly recommend this piercing if someone is thinking about it!
