I am so excited that I finally got my christina piercing done. It took me about a month to get up the nerve but I am so glad that I finally did it. I first became interested in the christina piercing while researching a vertical hood piercing on BME. I saw some photos and read the accounts of the brave women that had already received the piercing. I went and got my vertical hood and was quite satisified with the work that was done. However, after the healing process I decided that I would not be satisifed until I got my christina. I went to Dogstar and asked T if she was familiar with the christina piercing. She admitted that she had not done one before but would be willing to do the reasearch in order to do mine for me. We were both really excited about the idea of a new piercing. It took about a month for me to get up the nerve to go in and get it done. I kept putting it off, and losing my nerve. However, I finally decided to stop being a chicken and to jus t do it.

Once I got there I waited in the area for T to prepare the area. After about 15 minutes I went back and we began the process of marking the position. After about an hour or so of failed attempts to get the marks lined up just right T sent me home. She said that she did not feel comfortable completing a piercing in which she could not see the marks. I completly understood and decided to return later that week. Truth be told I actually thought it was a sign and considered not going throught with the piercing however my friends gave me the encouragement to go through with it.

I got to Dogstar on Sunday afternoon and I was REALLY nervous! My stomach was in knots and I was shaking. I went back with T and we began the process of marking. She had me lay flat on the table. This time the marking went perfect. It took about 45 minutes to get the mark perfect and soon it was time for the forceps. T and I decided that we would go with a 14 guage curved barbell for my christina. T decided to use forceps in order to retain control of the area in the event that I could not remain still at the time of the piercing. Once T put the forceps on me I knew that it was about to happen. She took a moment to adjust the forceps and this is where I really felt most of the pain. The teeth on the grips of the forceps really clapmed my skin and I breathed deeply in order to control the pain. T instructed me to take deep breaths and I closed my eyes and did so. As I breathed deeply, I saw this intense light and felt the needle go through the skin. Next thing I k now, T told me that it was done. I couldn't believe that I had actually done it. As I laid there I felt this tremendous rush of heat energy as I waited for T to finish putting in the jewelry, When she finally gave me the mirror I was so excited that I didn't know what to do. I had finally done it and it was perfect. I allowed her to take a couple of pictures for her portfolio and then got dressed. I was so excited that I gave T a hug and thanked her for doing the piercing for me. She even called me later that week to ask how I was doing. How's that for great customer service!

I remembered reading about the experiences of other women who said that the Christina hurt really bad. The only thing I have to say to that is that in my case, I think the greatest pain came from the forceps and not the actual needle. Don't get me wrong, it did hurt but not enough to deter me if I had it to do all over again.

I am excited that I was the first Christina piercing for Dogstar and for T. I guess I will always have a special place there. Now I am focusing on healing. T recommended cleaning the piercing twice a week with an antibacterial soap and soaking twice daily with sea salt and warm water. I have had to be mindful about the clothing that I wear. Jeans are not that comfprtable and underwear are a must if I wear pants. I am terribly affraid of rejection/migration so I am doing everything to prevent any pulling or snagging to that area.

I love this piercing and it goes really well with my navel and vertical hood piercing. I am not sure if this will be my last one, but for now I am satisified.
