About six months ago, I had a girlfriend who got her Inner Labia pierced. She was at school, bragging about it when my boyfriend mentioned that he thought it was sexy. So I thought, what would be the harm in it.

I didn't have a job at the time, and I knew of a place that would do it for me even though I was underage. The only problem was I was broke. So, I decided that I was going to do it myself. I went to my older step-sister and asked her for a barbell, since she has her nipple and tongue pierced. I got a 14g barbell. The only problem was I didn't have a 14g needle. Being the fool that I am, I thought it wouldn't hurt as bad if I used a regular sized needle. Boy was I wrong.
Now any female will tell you that it's almost impossible to see their labia, let alone stay in a position long enough to pierce it. So, I took a hand mirror, cotton balls, rubbing alcohol, and a wash cloth. I got in the shower, put the mirror on the bottom of the tub, and put the clean wash cloth in my mouth (Don't worry that's not a normal part of getting something pierced. I have a very weak tolerance for pain and with my parents in the room beside me; I wanted any screaming I did to be muffled). I took the needle and grabbed my inner lips. As I built up the courage, I carefully pushed the needle through. It hurt a little bit, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. It bled a little. It wasn't too bad. After I got the needle through (which I cleaned with rubbing alcohol), I took the balls off my barbell and went to push it through. Boy did that hurt like hell. Stretching the hole hurt worse than piercing it. But I managed to get it through on one lip. The bleeding had increased a little. This made it difficult to grip, but it wasn't like a period or anything. The problem was I couldn't find the hole on the other lip. By this time, my legs had begun to hurt and my skin was irritated. So, I left it.
I was very proud of the fact that I did it, even if it is only on the left inner lip. It looks good. My boyfriend was really surprised. The first thing my friends said to me was "That took some guts". The night that I did it, I went to my step-sisters. Of course they had questioned why I wanted the barbell and when I told them they're reaction was, "Can I see it?" lol. I took a picture of it with a digital camera and showed them and some of my girlfriends. It's a lovely conversation piece, too. Since very few girls have it done, or have the guts to do it. It doesn't get in the way during intercourse, but after you first do it, be careful when you wipe. I was careless and the toilet paper got caught on the barbell. It usually takes 3-6 weeks for the inner labia piercing to heal. Mine took 3 weeks. I really loved it.
I found a 12g needle that I had all along. I felt really dumb after that. So, I decided maybe it was time to pierce something else. I'm going to pierce my right nipple, that way I have some kind of balance with my piercing. I thought that it was going to hurt more than it did, but to my surprise, it didn't hurt that much. If you get it done, you don't really feel pain. The only problem is, if you use a barbell, get a curved one. I had a straight one and every time I sat down, it poked me. It feels kind of good. Guys love it to. It tickles them a lot. For me, it was a great experience. Besides the awful pain of stretching the hole, it hurt a lot less than I thought it would, or what I was told by a friend. I bought a curved barbell that I put in a month after I did the piercing. Up until it healed, I cleaned it twice a day with Bactine. It never got infected and has healed very nicely. My friends often ask to hear the story, and of course that's quite and ego boost for me. It's very interesting to hear people's reactions when you tell them about it, especially a guy. Also, the horseshoe rings with the balls are really great to have because they don't poked you, but very hard to get in. I kept popping the ball out and every time I did, I had to resteralize it. It's very important to clean the piercing, at least until it heals.
