For some months now I had been contemplating a piercing "down there". I had been pierced numerous times before, my nose (twice) my eyebrow, tongue, etc. But never had done my genitals. Why, I am not sure, thinking back on it. I believe that it was a fear of the unknown.

Anyway – the pain is always so temporary that it is always worth it in the end.
I had been thinking about which piercing I wanted done and decided on several, for the long run. I eventually wanted to have a couple (hopefully four) labia piercings and a vertical hood.
Well, I got a day off of work and went to my piercer. I got there at 2pm and made an appointment for 330pm. That was great, I had an hour-and-a-half to worry and make myself more nervous. I managed to keep myself occupied though by going shopping for some crap.
Well – fast forward to the piercing. She (the piercer) looked over my anatomy since I wasn't sure if I wanted an outer or inner labia, I wanted whatever would work best. She told me I could have either, and that I was really lucky that I could have my vertical hood and that I could get a fourchette if I wanted. I was really excited hearing that.
She cleaned the area and marked it. Let me see it and told me why she put it there, so that I could have the other piercings that I desired in the future.
After that she got the clamps and put them on. I hardly felt those, there was hardly any pinch. She told me to take a deep breath in and then breathe out and then WOW – there was a sharp pinch and it was over. It hurt, but not too bad. Not bad enough to stop me from getting another in the future.
She put the ring in and of course had to wrestle with closing the ring onto the bead (I had chosen to get a 12g ring). They said it usually winds up being about a gauge larger after healing. She told me all the instructions for healing – that peeing on it is fine, and good for it since our own urine is sterile. Since I had taken care of piercings before I pretty much knew the routine.
They gave me some sea salt and a little spray bottle of saline solution. That really came in handy over the next few days after I went to the bathroom or when it hurt. It just felt soothing on it.
Day1 The day of the piercing:
The ride home only hurt a little, but about a half hour after the piercing it started hurting like I had gotten a piece of metal jammed through a piece of my crotch. It was annoying but tolerable. I took some Ibuprofen and dealt with it. Laid around with no underwear on and baggy jammy pants – that seemed to do the trick. Was able to sleep well. Had some bleeding throughout the day when I peed.
Day 2 Post piercing:
Woke up and wasn't hurting – until I walked. Got in the shower – guess I hadn't thought about how I was going to wash with a piercing down there. Hmm. Good thing I have that attachment on my shower. Seriously, that made it stop hurting and feel sooo much better. More ibuprofen. Went to class and decided that waddling around campus was either
a) going to be hard to explain or...
b) going to look stupid
So...I chose to walk as normal as possible, which still think did not look completely normal, more like I had sprained my ankle. On the way to school I kept a water bottle in my crotch – that felt great, however, I didn't really think that it would be socially acceptable to cram a water bottle into my crotch in the middle of lecture. So I refrained.
Later in the evening for some ridiculously stupid reason I apparently thought that my new piercing could handle some "extracurricular" activity of a sexual nature. Stupid me. I don't condone this – and wouldn't do it again.
Day 3:
Woke up sore. Undoubtedly from what I knew I shouldn't have done, but did. What a dumb shit maneuver that was on my part.
Thankfully I only had one class that I had to go to that I could park very close to. Phew. I still managed to walk fairly normal. The water bottle helped a lot in sort of numbing the area before I got and walked/stumbled my ass around.
Since I hit the snooze about a million times I showered when I got home. The warm water makes my new piercing feel so much better (for hours actually) and I decided to soak for a little while in the bath. Then I got grossed out cuz I saw my husband's pube hairs in the tub – that always pisses me off. So much for my bath.
Day 4:
My piercing is doing really great today and I am able to walk around. It still hurts – don't get me wrong. But I haven't taken anything for it since the second day. I am still using the saline solution spray and a cold water bottle if I find that it starts to ache a lot.
Walking is pretty easy, I can walk just fine at this point, however, around the house I usually choose to waddle like I have a huge sausage between my legs or something. I also never wear underwear around the house and am constantly in my jammy pants.
Would I do it again? Absolutely, and I plan on getting another inner labia and a vertical hood. (at least)
Afterthoughts:
- don't have sex after you get a genital piercing, what your piercer tells you about this is correct and you will hurt more if you do so, even if it feels good at the time (dumass)
- You need to have lots of saline on hand, it is your friend. Good sources are contact solution (that says SALINE) or mixing some up
- Have COTTON undies that are loose and some nice comfy clothes – but really, your piercing does not want you to wear those tight jeans or a thong after you get it and it will let you know that if you are stupid enough to try
