Ive wanted a hood piercing for years! I looked at pictures of them, talked about it, asked my husband about it. And I finally got up the courage to get it done after lots of encouragement from my husband! He and I went to Spider Bite in Manchester. We've both had lots of piercings from Jason before, so we both trusted him to pierce my most delicate bits. He's done a bunch of genital piercings on my husband and his work is very very exact!
At A Glance Author NotMiscellaneous Contact NotMiscellaneous@bme.anon When A year ago Artist Jason Studio Spider Bite Location Manchester, NH When we got there, I spoke with Jason for a while, and he discussed the different types of female genital piercings with me, and the benefits of all the different types. He was really interested in 'why' I wanted the piercing. I suppose that might be because I dont look like the typical piercing customer. I have only a few visible piercings. (4 lobe on each side, a daith on both sides, and one nostril) He said that the horizontal piercing is generally considered to be the prettiest of the hood piercings, but if I were looking for sensation, the vertical hood was what I wanted. In the end I decided to go with a horizontal clitoral hood piercing and used a 14g ring 1/2 inch ring.
So we went to the piercing room and having been there lots of times before, we knew that he keeps his stuff super clean and that his work is very exact. He also has a very hyper, funny and amusing personality that really takes the mind off the pain! We always end up laughing at his antics every time! He loves to show off his piercings, and this time he showed us his belly button piercing. So he asked me to remove my pants (which was the part I was dreading the most) but he looked away while I did that. I still felt embarrassed though. He was so funny and told me a horror story about a very heavy woman he had pierced a while ago. Im sure to try to help me feel ok about - you know, my 40 year old body! I got on the table and he got all his equipment ready and we talked about how badly it would hurt. He said "Im not going to lie to ya, it's a squeaker"
So he was ready and came and looked at my bits and pieces, and said he could do a horizontal hood and marked and clamped the skin. My husband was very interested in helping him with the placement. He then quickly pierced me with the hollow needle, and put the jewelry in, and cleaned it all up. It took less than 30 seconds all together.
It did hurt, and the cleaning fluid hurt quite a bit too. It was more of a stinging sensation. But it was nothing that was all that bad. It was by no means the most painful of my piercings. Id say that one of my lobe piercings was the most painful.
We went out to dinner afterward and it was totally fine, I could barely feel any pain at all! But as soon as we got home, my husband wanted to see it! He loved it and could barely keep his hands off of it! (but you do have to keep it clean) It healed very quickly and without problem! I would say it took only about 2 weeks to heal. They say you shouldn't have intercourse til it's fully healed, but my husband and I did give it a try (who can wait, when you have a new piercing to try out!) and the sensitivity of it was really amazing! It was swollen a little, but nothing troublesome! I washed it twice a day in the shower, and used the provon soap that they reccomended to me to keep the germs away (but not too much because as Jason says "you dont want to nuke your vagina) and used some salt water rinse to keep the ring clean and fresh. Which really helped it feel better while it heals. Those type of piercings tend to sort of get crusties. Little bits of dried blood a nd plasma that builds up on the ring and it will hurt like blazes if you accidently get a crusty bit inside the pierced skin. It's a mistake you will not make twice!
Ive had it for quite some time now. And even after so much time after, it's adorable, it's feels great, my husband loves it! I dont know if the vertical hood piercing would give more sensation but the horizontal clitoral hood piercing does bring more sensation. Though it was much more sensitive when I had first gotten it than it is now. But I still I love knowing I have a little secret!
If you are thinking about it.. don't wait. Just go get it done! My husband and I have been trying to figure out what to get pierced next!
