Okay so about a year ago my best friend and I decided that after about two years of talking about it, we were actually going to go through with getting our VCH piercings. I think the most important thing is finding a clean place to get your piercing. We looked at probably hundreds of places to get pierced before we chose where we were going to go.

We were given choices of what rings we wanted and after we chose what we wanted, we went into a back room. It's a little awkward having someone else in the room but really all you're concerned with is getting it over with at that point. My friend went first because she was scared she wouldn't go through with it if she had seen me get it done first. Hers went really well. She didn't make a face and said it was nothing so now it was my turn. I took off my pants and you're told to sit on the chair as if you're at the gynecology office. The piercer cleans the area and then does this Q-tip test to make sure everything will work properly I assume. It's kind of uncomfortable at first but you get used to it. Then he took the Q-tip out and put a metal bar through. The metal bar doesn't fit in some people, me for example so he just nixed it. He then stuck the needle in and c ounted to three and on three I was done. I have to admit that it is a very sensitive area, at least for me it was. I wouldn't say that it was really painful but it's a pinch. After the needle was through he just put the ring in, which I chose a straight barbell and highly recommend for this piercing. I felt that my healing went a lot smoother with the straight barbell than I think a hoop would have gone.
So I was done. I got off the table; put my pants back on and walked about 10 blocks back to the subway. Afterwards, I had completely forgotten that I had even gotten this piercing done. It was amazing that there was no aftershock pain effect. Now my friend on the other hand had, what she said was a burning feeling for about an hour afterwards. After that, however, there was no discomfort. We went out to eat, sat down, crossed our legs, we completely forgot that we had our VCH piercings. Everything is completely normal. Things like going to the bathroom the first time will scare you but don't worry after you're pierced you can touch it and there's no pain at all. Some people bleed and others do not. My friend bled the day of and night of. I, however, didn't bleed the day of but the day after. It all depends on the person and how your body takes to it. We bought this amazing soap that you use in the shower or bath. You wash the piercing two to three times a day during the healing process, which can be anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
I personally think that my piercing was healed in two weeks but I could be wrong. Some people get a discharge that comes out of the piercing, don't worry its normal. I didn't have that but it does happen. Now, for the sad part of my story. About 8 months after I got my piercing I had noticed that along one portion of the piercing, my skin started to get thin and there was even a hole developing so I did end up having to remove the jewelry and let it close. When it fully closes I definitely plan on getting it re-pierced if possible. It's something that I would do over and over again and it is definitely worth it. The pain, well it really isn't pain at all and the cost was actually pretty inexpensive. The piercing itself was $35 and the jewelry was $30. So after tipping I probably spent $80. Money well spent. If you're even thinking about getting this piercing GET IT! I'm not kidding, it was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's something that only yo u know about unless you tell people. It's just something for you. If you're not sure whether you actually want to get it or not, just do it. For the two years that my friends and I were joking about actually getting it done, I never imagined that anyone would go through with it and their reactions when I told them that I had was priceless. I never thought this was something that I would have gone through but I am telling you its something that you have to do, and if you chicken out, you're missing out. So do your research and be safe. I'm going to leave you this website. It's the website of the Association of Professional Piercers. You can look up a lot of things and most importantly find an APP in your area according to state. So good luck and I hope my story helped you out.
