I had never thought of getting a piercing down there. I had never actually seen what the piercing looked like in person or in a picture so I couldn't say that I didn't like them but I just couldn't imagine dropping my pants and letting someone put a sharp needle through that part of my body. It's not like I was new to body piercings though. Before my hood piercing I had my navel, tongue, and rook pierced.

I went to a strip club with a couple of friends and that was when I saw one of the girls had a ring down there. As soon as I saw that I knew I wanted one. I didn't know exactly what she had pierced so I went onto BME and looked through the different kinds of genital piercings and that's when I decided I wanted the VCH. It looked so cute and the benefit of a little extra pleasure on the side wasn't bad to. I researched it on the internet and looked at lots of pictures and finally I thought I was ready.
I decided to go to Electric Babylon to see Niki as I had heard from many people that she was really great. I got there with my boyfriend and was immediately nervous but excited at the same time. Being in a tattoo/piercing place always gives you that little rush feeling. When I was at the door the guy at the desk on the other side of the room asked what I wanted. I said a VCH. What? He said. I had to yell across the room, a VCH! I was kind of embarrassed to say it out loud but whatever. After I had gotten it I would probably want to tell everybody anyway.
I signed all the papers and Niki led me into the piercing room and closed and locked the door behind us just in case anybody decided they wanted to just walk in. I was so nervous but Niki made me feel really comfortable. She made jokes and answered all of my questions about my piercing before we got to the deed. She told me to take off my pants and spread eagle and gave me a little dentist blanket thing to drape over myself so that I wouldn't feel awkward sitting with open legs on the table while she got everything ready. She said first I just have to see if your body will allow a VCH. She looked and said, "You have really no hood at all but I can do a horizontal." I was so bummed. I thought what the heck? I came all this way and already have my pants off I have to leave with something so I said go for it. She got me to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth and on the third breathe she pierced. OUCH! It really hurt but it was over so quick you almost don' t have time to think about it. Then she went to put the ring in which was a little uncomfortable and I resulted to my horrible habit. I always push with my hands to move the pain away and I pushed her hands and out popped the needle. She said we could try and push the ring through but it might hurt or I can come back and get it re-pierced in about a week. I said go for it. Try to put it in. HOLY CRAP! It hurt way more than the piercing and eventually she said there was no way it would go in. Everything was swollen. She said I could come back and she would pierce it again and didn't charge me even though it was my fault she didn't get the ring in and finish the piercing.
I left the studio and my area was bleeding quite a bit but it slowed down and I just relaxed the rest of the day. I was so disappointed but there was no way I was chickening out. I was going back. A week later when the swelling had gone done and everything seemed fine I went back.
We went through the whole procedure again. Signing the forms, getting her tools ready, and me taking my pants off. Make sure when you are getting pierced everything is clean and all tools and needles are brand new! Once again Niki made me feel calmer but I was still scared because now I knew what it was going to feel like. I did my breathing and she pierced. Whoo! Again it hurt but it was over so quick. She put the ring in and it was fine. This time there was no blood or anything. When she pierced I didn't even flinch. I just made this weird look on my face because my boyfriend commented on it as he came with me in the room. Niki brought me a mirror and I looked at my new piece of jewelry. It looked AWESOME! I loved it.
Niki went over the healing process with me and took me to the front to pay. It was 80 plus tax. I paid, thanked her and left the studio. It didn't hurt to walk but I was walking funny for a bit because I was scared that if I closed my legs all the way I would hit it or something. I was just being paranoid. Healing was pretty easy. Just don't touch it and try to go to pee as much as you can because that's what heals it. Within a couple of days I stopped noticing it and it seemed pretty much healed and safe to have sex again. I'm pretty sure after like two days we could have done it but I wanted to be safe.
I have had this piercing for about a month and a half and I love it! It feels good when you ride over bumps in your car and my boyfriend loves it! Because I loved this piercing so much I am planning on getting another genital piercing. I'm thinking the outer labia or a Christina piercing. Don't be afraid to get this piercing if you really want it. The pain is over so quickly you can definitely handle it and I'm not that good with pain and I got through it. So go for it. You won't regret it. I love having this little secret and I wish I could just scream out, "I got my hood pierced!"
