Hey everyone! So I turned 28 this week. Last year for my 27th birthday present to myself I pierced both of my nipples, since then I've been working on an ear project, but I really wanted to do something special for my birthday. What to do?... I decided on my vertical clitoral hood.

So I went to the only place where I get piercings done these days, Instinct Adornment in Kamloops, British Columbia. Like I always say, I know it's a small town, but I can't imagine a better piercing studio. They only pierce (well, I take it they do implants and maybe scarring, too), so no tattooing, they focus on the piercing and consequentially, they are very good!

So I booked the appointment a couple of weeks ago, but on the first day of the week instead of the last. Usually I go on the last day of the week and then it just feels like the week DRAGS by. So I tried it the other way, and before I knew it, I was in the studio signing the waiver.

I was very entertained by the fact that there was a different aftercare brochure for genital piercings which includes instructions to wash the piercing with (your own) pee. I haven't tried it yet and don't actually doubt the usefulness of urine for disinfecting purposes, but and a little worried about getting past the washing myself with pee problem. After a rather entertaining conversation with all those present (just people that work there that I already know pretty well) about the pee issue, I signed the waiver and proceeded into the back room to get some metal rammed through my unmentionables.

Jenna sat me down in the chair and we talked about piercings for a while because I have an ear project that she has been helping me with and I was thinking that I might get some more done after the hood. We decided to wait and see how the hood went.

Jenna put liners on the chair, supposedly for "butt sweat", but I suspect it was for blood. She told me to take off my panties and pull my skirt up above my waist or take it off. She left briefly for that. Then I sat down (she doesn't like to make people lie down for it) and she applied some really strong numbing gel to the area. We hung out and talked while the numbing stuff took effect and she fiddled around. She asked me to look for placement, but I really did not want to, plus I wouldn't know a properly placed VCH if it hit me across the face. I don't know what she did when she was applying the number, but it hurt. I would assume it was because she had to get the numbing gel under the hood. I'm not overly well-acquainted with my own anatomy, and I wasn't watching, so I'm not sure. Anyways, she put it on and it hurt, but then it went numb, which was a beautiful thing. I think this was the longest anyone, including my gyno has been down there looking around, and m y first time having a girl down there, but oddly enough, I was pretty relaxed. It's probably because it was Jenna, she has a great "bedside manner".

All of a sudden it was time for the piercing. She told me to take a breath and blow it out slowly, but I tensed up and she waited and gave me another breath before putting the needle through. And it was over after about a second and a half. And since then it has been absolutely lovely. No pain, nothing uncomfortable. I haven't peed or so much as looked at the piercing yet (it makes me queezy to look right after), or checked the pad Jenna gave me for blood, but I'm sure all is as it should be!

We decided not to do anything else as far as the ear project went, not for lack of interest on my part, but I have a hypertropic bump right now, so she said to deal with that and then come back next week. Plus, I think I have my hands full, what with having to find creative ways to clean my hood with pee. I'm really just not sure how that's going to work out for me. No one mentioned that little tidbit when I was reading about hood piercing experiences!

Oh, by the way, right after the piercing was done, Jenna said, "Thanks for not farting," which is apparently a problem with this piercing. I just thought you all would have a laugh at that. But if you want my advice, if you're interested in this piercing, you might as well get it. Personally, I couldn't go the rest of my life wondering whether piercings one's hood provides additional sexual stimulation. I'm looking forward to answering that question in the near future.

Happy piercing!
