I had never thought much of a genital piercing before, actually it was more like "why would anybody do that." I really did not know anything about them and honestly did not know there were different types and places. So when a friend mentioned it I was like "no thanks, I will pass on this one." I talked about it with my husband and he agreed that it was a crazy idea, so I dismissed it. Only for a few days though.

I found some pictures and found the vertical hood to actually be very sexy. I asked some questions and read a few stories on this site actually and decided that it was not really a bad idea at all. The thought of it started to fuel an interest and I could not stop looking at the pictures and reading about it, so I pitched the idea once again to my husband. Boy did I get shot down big time. It started a bit of a conflict between us and I respected his opinion but decided to easily say "honey I am not looking for your permission, I am looking for your support in something I want to do, if I decide I don't like it then I can always take it out." He respected that and said that he supported me then but was not interested in going. I was okay with that, I wasn't sure I wanted anyone there with me anyways.
Now, the reason it was free, is because a friend knew the piercer and she was branching out to genital piercings and needed some "test subjects." Most people would not be okay with this but I researched the studio and the girl that was teaching her had a huge medical background and was appointed by the governor to represent the state in piercings and tattoos, so I felt like I was in good hands.
The day finally came and I was so excited all day, I could not wait to get it done. I had to wait all day of course because my appointment was not until later that evening. The car ride there was interesting , I stopped and got a huge pack of bubble gum thinking if I was chewing that then I could have a good buffer between my teeth if I decided to bite down from the pain. I finally get there and there were a few people in the shop and when the guy behind the counter asked what I was there to get and who I was seeing I was almost embarrassed when I said I am getting my hood pierced. That feeling passed quickly and I met Bekka and she was a wonderful person and so down to earth. I feel that is a very important trait for a piercer to have, it seems to calm the nerves a bit.
We went back to the room and we sat down and talked all about the process and the healing and what I should expect and what to look out for. We picked out the jewelry, I decided to go with the plain steel look, I'm not really into the whole sparkly thing. I met Jessica, the girl that was watching over the process and she was also very nice and made sure everything was gone over and made sure any questions were answered. They got everything together while I stripped down to my girlhood and it wasn't as uncomfortable as I would have thought. I laid back on the table and they went over everything and I found out that the clitoris actually starts in the stomach area or something, so I even learned something. At this point I was so nervous and wouldn't you know it, I forgot to get some gum out when I was stripping down to my nothingness ! That sucked ! Oh well, I thought, if I can have a child that is almost 9 lbs, I can surely handle this.
When they were finally ready I took my breath and WOW ! It almost felt like someone took a hole puncher and put a hole down there. Yes, it hurt but it only lasted for a few seconds, and im sure I have had worse pain from being a hazzard to myself. I tend to be clumsy sometimes, but so what, I'm a girl and its allowed. I actually was walking funny because I was anticipating pain but it never hurt. I will admit if I sat down wrong, I tend to sit with a foot under me, I would hit it and yelp but for the most part I forgot it was even there.
This piercing was the easiest to care for in my opinion, and was the least painful and had the fastest healing time. If you are considering this I highly recommend it. Yes, it feels amazing during sex but it was more to it than that for me. I felt like I could do or handle anything, it is almost empowering.
