So, literally, I have been wanting this a vertical hood piercing for nearly a year. I decided that beforehand, however, I wanted to collect as much information as possible on the upcoming piercing. I like to be thoroughly prepared. So I read nearly every account on BME I could, and looked up tons of pictures. I had already decided I would like to have a vertical hood done--I decided even if it didn't add anything sexually, it was such a beautiful piercing it would totally be worth it.

I finally feel I have read all I can possibly read and I definitely feel sufficiently prepared. Now all I am waiting for is a time when it's right after my period (NOTE: a really good idea--this minimizes the amount of bacteria, and plus gives you a good three and a half weeks to start healing), when I have enough money, and when I can take a long weekend off from work. Finally, all three coincide.
May 10 was the day I decided on. I had Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off that week and finally had enough money, so here goes. I live about an hour and some change away from Piercology, but after having such a great experience with my Monroe, I will never go anywhere else but here. Very friendly piercers who know exactly what they're doing--everything's pristinely clean, but it doesn't feel like a doctor's office.
Me and my boyfriend take the drive on Saturday up to Piercology. I go in and tell them what I want (luckily the shop was deserted so I didn't feel weird saying what I wanted), and I picked out my jewelry. They also went over aftercare instructions THEN, which I love, because I would totally forget if they told me afterward. I also signed my forms, and they gave me a tub of sea salt to soak with.
I only waited about five minutes before Tiffany called me back--I've never been pierced by her before, but having a woman pierce my nether regions definitely put me more at ease than having a man would have. So me and my boyfriend head back. She sets up everything, and shows me everything in sterile packages and explains how everything was going to go and asks if I have any questions. I didn't really, so on we went!
She told me to go ahead and get undressed while she turned her back and got everything out of the packages. I laid down on the table, on top of the medical paper of course, and put my feet on the edges of the table. She looked at my hood, and said I was very well suited to have this piercing done. She also complimented me on how cute the tattoos on my feet were (flowers), which also put me more at ease.
She told me then all she was going to do was put the receiving tube underneath to measure for what length the barbell should be and where she was going to place it. She said I had a natural line running directly down the center of my hood, so it was very easy to mark. I can definitely say that the receiving tube is VERY uncomfortable--it felt like it was pinching in a very bad way. But anyways, she marked me up and gave me a mirror to make sure I agreed. I did, but my boyfriend had also come back to the room, and I asked for his opinion. We were all in agreement that the spot she marked was perfect.
Next, she was a bit dumb-founded by my request. But I asked her not to tell me when she going to pierce me, to just let me breathe, and then do it whenever. I had my boyfriend hold my left leg, so I wouldn't try to clamp her head, since when I orgasm that's immediately what I do is shut my legs, I didn't know if this would be a similar reaction or not. She replies that it was a weird request, but she understood and obliged.
Sarcastic yay, receiving tube time. The receiving tube was honestly quite worse than the piercing itself to me. I started my slow, deep breaths and tried to relax, and right when I was getting relaxed, pop it was done. I made a slight "UGH" noise, and tensed up quite a bit, but after that, I was fine. Putting the jewelry in was a breeze, and the only thing that was uncomfortable after that was her taking the receiving tube out. She screwed on the ball, and I was done. She told me that I did really well, better than most who come in, and that made me feel great. I sat up, and felt a little dizzy, so I had a chug of Monster and sat for a couple minutes to get my blood sugar back up. We were chatting a bit, and I felt I was finally ready to get up without passing out. She said, "The best thing about this piercing is you won't even feel it when you get up." And that was the honest truth. It didn't even feel like I was pierced at all. I put my pants and shoes back on and gave her a nice tip, thanked her profusely and went on my way.
I didn't have earth-shattering orgasms or anything that day. Driving in the truck down the highway felt...different, I suppose would be the way to put it. It wasn't really even that I could feel much, but I was really aware of everything downstairs, and that was pretty cool. Immediately afterward I went shopping, and I was on Cloud 9 the entire day. The only discomfort I had was when my underwear got kind of bunched up in the wrong way and it was slightly uncomfortable, but a quick trip to the bathroom remedied that.
My piercers told me that I could have sex whenever I was ready, just to be careful, use condoms, and listen to your body. I waited a few days and couldn't wait any more. Of course, no oral sex, but I did (VERY gently) use a vibrator, and it does feel better and different. Sex was a little awkward, just because we were trying to be really careful. It felt fine after, I just cleaned it well to make sure. Other than that, it has felt fine--no crusties, no soreness. I've been washing it once a day and doing sea salts soaks for ten minutes once a day opposite the cleaning.
Soaking this piercing takes a little finesse. What I recommend is mixing up your soak, and putting it in a shot glass. Then sit on the edge of tub, facing into the tub so you don't spill, and hold. That seems to work best for me.
I can definitely say I have been more turned on that usual since getting this piercing. I tend to not be in the mood a lot because I'm stressed out, but I have been more aroused since I got it. And as others have stated, it will raise your confidence to know you have a shiny metal secret in your pants!
My advice to others: Please go do this if you want. It hurts for maybe a second, and even if it doesn't make things more pleasurable, it's beautiful, and totally worth every penny! Do your research, and you will be completely at ease and prepared when the time comes. Happy piercing!
