Ever since I can remember, I have loved piercings. I always thought they were beautiful, and admired people for the pain they went through just for that little piece of shiny metal. Naturally, I started getting pierced as soon as I was able. Coming from a fairly modest family in rural Minnesota, however, I ended up only being able to get "socially acceptable" piercings, i.e. lobes, cartilage, and navel. When I turned 18 I got my nipples pierced. I loved the feeling it gave me, and I started to think about getting a genital piercing. I entered college soon after, and pushed the idea of genital piercings to the back of my mind.

Fast forward to the spring of my freshman year at college. I had just gotten a new man in my life, and our sex life was thriving. I started thinking about what I could do to enhance it, and then the idea of genital piercings came back into my mind. After researching extensively on BME and Rings of Desire, I decided to get it done. I looked at the shops in my area, and checked out who had the most experience in piercing. After looking, I found that Dead Rockstar in Fargo, North Dakota was the best shop around. I had previously had my tragus pierced there, so I knew they were clean. I also found out that their senior piercer, Chuck, was an APP member. So I took two of my guy friends and went to get it done.

When I got to the shop, it was pretty busy. This didn't surprise me much, as I know that they are very popular because they do awesome work. Their piercings are only done on a walk-in basis, so I didn't make an appointment before I went in. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I finally got to talk to Chuck. I went up to the counter and told him I wanted a Vertical Clitoral Hood piercing. He immediately brought me over to look at jewelry. After searching for a couple seconds, he brought out a 14g curved barbell. This looked perfect, and after asking and making sure it was 3.16LVM, I gave the go ahead. I paid for my jewelry, the piercing, and some H2Ocean. It was about $80, but that was just fine with me because I know you pay for quality.

After bringing me into the piercing room, Chuck set up while I watched. He changed gloves at all the right times, which made me feel very secure about his abilities. After leaving the room, I disrobed from the waist down and covered up with a towel. He knocked on the door and I told him it was all right to come back in. Oh, I should mention that while he was very professional, he was also very personable and made me feel very relaxed during the whole procedure. This was actually the least nervous I have been about ANY of my piercings. Anyway, after he came back in, he pulled stirrups out from the side of the chair (which I thought was really cool, because it didn't look like there were any stirrups at all!), and had me put my feet in them. He looked at my hood, and determined that I was anatomically suited for a VCH. This made me very happy; since my main concern was that I wouldn't be suited. He cleaned the area to prep for the piercing. After holding the jewelry up to the area to make sure it would be the right length, he marked me. I looked at the markings and they looked great to me, then he clamped me for the procedure. At first this worried me a bit, because I know that it is standard procedure to use a needle receiving tube rather than a clamp, but he said that with my anatomy it would actually probably be easier to use a clamp. I know that if I would have asked him to he would have used a NRT. Once he had the clamp in place, he told me to take a deep breath whenever I was ready, and as I let my breath out he put the needle through. I'm not going to lie, it hurt, but it really wasn't unbearable at all. It honestly felt like someone pinched me REALLY hard. Reflexes made me pull back a little, but it wasn't anything bad. I actually probably pulled back more when I got a Brazilian wax than I did when I got my VCH! It was a little painful when he inserted the jewelry as well, but after he got that through there was virtually no pain at all. As a matter of fact, I only got it done about 3 hours ago and as I sit here there is absolutely no pain!

I haven't experienced any sexual feelings really, and it doesn't seem to do anything for me right now. No random orgasms or anything. That's okay though, because I really didn't get it for that reason, I like the aesthetic of a VCH.

Bottom line is, if you want this piercing I would definitely recommend getting it. The pain really wasn't any worse than any of my other piercings. Just make sure you go to a piercer who you feel comfortable with, because I think that the fact that Chuck made me feel very comfortable really alleviated any nerves that I had. Go get this done, it's totally worth it. And if you're in the Fargo area, go see Chuck at Dead Rockstar!
