Studio Body Manipulations
Location San Francisco
I had thought about getting a vertical hood for awhile and I figured about a month ago that it was the perfect time. I spent weeks looking at reviews of studios on Yelp, BME, and the personal experiences of friends. Finally, I found myself settled on Body Manipulations at 16th and Guerrero in San Francisco. I got to the studio, more nervous than I thought I would be, but I was greeted at the counter by Paul Stoll, my piercer as well as owner of Body Manipulations.

Before he pierced me, he showed me the jewelry as well as talked a little bit about length of bars and ball size to get the right feeling. :) Afterwards, he showed me to the restroom to clean up and prep in case I needed to. Finally he took me to the piercing space. The table was exactly like the ones that they have in OB/GYN offices but the actual experience was much different. I have gotten a few piercings before but having to actually drop my pants was a first.

Paul had me sit on the edge of the table and explained exactly what he was doing. Before he pierced me, I also asked him to check to see if I could get a triangle piercing (planning on getting one in the next few weeks). He said it might not work because I have more of a "valley" formed by my lips but that I was perfectly okay to get a vertical hood.

Anyway, I braced myself for the worst but the reality was that the piercing itself was incredibly fast. First he marked with a disposable pen where the piercing was going to go through my hood and placed the receiving tube under my clitoral hood for placement of the piercing. (It was a bit odd to have so much non-sexual attention being give to my clitoris.) He then went ahead and stuck a 12-gauge needle through my hood. Other than a quick "oh, shit", the experience was actually more of a rush than painful.

Afterwards, I paid for my piercing and Paul talked to me a little bit more about aftercare and even gave me a souvenir pen (the one that was used to mark me). He told me that although I barely bled and the piercing looked fine, I should give the piercing a good four weeks to heal.

Being as how I took BART down to the piercing parlor, I walked myself back to 16th and Mission to catch BART home. On the way home, I already felt the piercing starting to do its job--it was great! :) Just knowing that it was there, no one else knew, and it was pleasurable throughout the day was enough for me to be satisfied with it at that moment.

For the next two or three days, my clitoris was incredibly sensitive and everything I did down there I felt. Honestly, I also did notice a bit of spotting on my underwear from the piercing but it was very slight (two or three dots of blood at most).

Oral sex for the first time was actually quite interesting with it. About ten days afterwards I figured I'd try it out. It felt great until my partner started to suck on the bar and lift it up (thereby pulling my hood up with it). Honestly, that was a bit painful and made me squirm, but now, I would have to say that everything is just fine with it during oral sex.

About a month out, I must say that I am incredibly satisfied with the piercing as well as the service I received at Body Manipulations. I definitely plan on getting my triangle done by Paul in the next few weeks and may even try to get a Christina and nipple piercings as well (as long as it's getting done at Body Manipulations).

I must say that following this experience, I can't wait to get the triangle done. I hear it is much more expensive with a higher failure rate, but I figure it's worth the effort for the great stimulation women are supposed to get with it behind the clitoral stem. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Oddly enough, this was my ninth body piercing and for the first time I felt like I actually got great service in addition to a great piercing. I wish I knew about Body Manipulations earlier, but I'm definitely glad I found out about it now rather than later.

Oh, one thing I would recommend, however, is going out and getting Dr. Bonner's Castile Soap to was for awhile with the new piercing because it's very easy on the skin. In addition, if I would have realized that my piercing would bleed for a few days, I would have also tried using pantiliners until it stopped just for the sake of my underwear.
