As a seasoned tattoo addict on a small budget, I was looking for the next big challenge. I love body piercing jewelry but don't have the body for most. After reading almost every post on every body mod site I could find, I decided to try a hood piercing "someday".
At A Glance Author victoria Contact victoriavibbert@hotmail.com When A month ago Artist husband After talking about it a few times and being told that I would never do it, I decided it was an idea whose time had come. However, I had a problem. My husband would not let a male do the job and we have no female piercers anywhere near where we live. While reading some new experience posts, I found one that claimed to have found everything they needed on Ebay, and did their piercing all by themselves. This was perfect! I had a new Ebay account to play with!I got online and found out how cheaply I could get the supplies I needed. I got my husband to read up on the piercing I wanted to make sure he thought he could do it and found a supplier online. I started out with a horizontal piercing kit because it was so much cheaper and had everything, gloves, antiseptic, everything. If I had any other choice, I would not have opted to do it at home. It's dangerous. This is not an area you want to take chances with. It's always better to get a professional to do the job.
I waited for a few days to get the kit, thinking I would do it that weekend. When the kit came in, I found I had made a mistake. The needle was only an 18 gauge and everything I had read recommended at least 14 gauge. Besides, the captive bead ring looked so boring. I wanted something pretty and feminine and kind of racy. And I wanted to be able to change it often. I can't stand to wear the same jewelry day in and day out. Back to Ebay I went. While I was shopping I did more research and discovered that a vertical piercing would give more sensation and have more options for jewelry. I already had several belly button rings that would work, including a cute little frog that sits above the clitoris and hugs it. Too cute. Now all I needed was the needle. Ebay. Problem solved.
When the needle came in the mail, I nearly passed out. Did I mention my horrible fear of needles? 14 gauge is way bigger than 18 gauge. But I had talked my junk, it had to be done. I waited impatiently for my husband to do the deed, but he works every night. I've never been one to wait for a man to do anything for me so I siked myself out, propped up, cleaned up, and tried to do it myself. I got the needle halfway through the skin of my hood before my fear caught up with me. Thank goodness my husband came home early that night. There I was, on the bed, spreadeagled, with a large needle and sweat pouring off of me in buckets. Ahhhh, the look on his face was priceless. I must have looked like a complete fool, but I had gotten this far and I wasn't backing out now. I was already noticing an increase in sensation. I played it off as if it was nothing and asked him to push the needle on through. That's when I found out how sensitive that area really was. I didn't even notice the rest,(much), I was trying to keep from coming off the bed with excitement. The feeling was amazing and was causing a huge adrenaline rush.
The next day I had to take a long car ride in a car with bad alignment, which causes the car to vibrate a certain speeds. Wow. I had heard of girls who could get off from that but never believed it. Guess what. It's true. Boy is it true! That was a month ago and I still won't let my husband fix that car.
The people who know about my new addition ask if I regret it at all. My answer? NO WAY!! Fear of needles or not, I'd do it all over again, I may even get a triangle done. My sex life is better than it's been since I was 18 and I've never enjoyed car rides so much. I recommend this to anyone! Thanks to BME for posting actual experiences wouldn't have had the nerve without this resource.
I do recommend choosing your jewelry well. Especially while it is still healing. I started out with a straight barbell because it was the only one my husband could get in with his large fingers. A curved barbell is much more comfortable because it curves away from the top of the body and doesn't tug so much. For the first few days I had to be careful how I walked and twisted so it wouldn't get yanked on. Once I changed to a curved barbell, I hardly even noticed it was there. I have found a happy medium by using a curved barbell with a small top ball and a large decorative bottom ball.
My husband is enthralled with it. Sometimes I think its more of a toy for him than me. But then we have to drive a few miles and I know, It's all for me! It's the best present ever!
